'Nother one bites the dust. crobar used to be the lone hold out on Memorial Day weekend...no hip-hop events. Last year Erick Morillo absolutely destroyed the place...

Hey, it's called crobar, not the Cameo...get a clue.

Man, the first post in this thread had me worried. I thought they shut down Crobar and changed it back to Cameo, just since I was there Saturday.

Well the good news is that it is still Crobar,..... but the bad news is... Memorial Day weekend it will not be the Crobar we like. I will be chillin in Ft. Lauderdale that weekend :). How about we take over Riverfront!

I'll be at Space 34, myself :)

It's a guaranteed good time.

I'm shocked that crobar is doing this...especially on a Sunday. It must have taken an act of god to get Michael Tronn to cancel his Sunday event.

Wonder why they're even bothering, considering ZNO is right next door now.

Calm down there, Frisco-ite.

Lalo was just making a little joke. If anything I've seen him come down like the wrath of God if someone said "nigga" out of place.

We all know that money makes the world go 'round. But what the issue here is that crobar hardly needed to sell out to the ghetto interests to make a buck on Memorial Day weekend. Take last year for instance.

Friday= Erick Morillo - packed to the rafters for a total monster no-mercy set.

Saturday = Forgot, but it was probably Cedric and Ivano, and it was still packed.

Sunday = For the out and proud, Victor Calderone was in the house. Packed to the gills.

I think crobar has made a big mistake with this lineup. Last year, Ken and Cal went on record saying "we're the lone hold out on South Beach for Memorial Day Weekend..." ... I'm seriously wondering what happened.

I'm not gonna be on South Beach that weekend for sure, unless Nerve or Maze has something special lined up. I'll be at Space 34 for the most part, though.

Yea well me being of the "dark" tone did not find it very funny! So being the Frsico-ite I am, will let you know how I feel.

Crobar is making its measy "buck" because Only some of the biggest names in Hip-Hop right now are going to be there and from what I hear its $75 and up PER PERSON not including so called VIP to get up in that joint as with most clubs on Sobe that weekend. How much was it last year for those non hip-hop clubs I wonder? Like I said, Money is the Question and Answer no matter how DARK the crowd is. :afro: :afro:

Well wonder no more.

crobar was $25-30 to get in last year, plus if you knew someone, you got a dog-tag which got you in all weekend for free, and you could skip the line too.

I'm considering it selling out since last year they had quality events and made a killing. Dollars to donuts, half of those bling-bling motherfuckers aren't paying $75 to get in, either.

Maze wasn't around this time last year, so I have no basis to wonder what they'll charge. Probably the same as they do always, which is no more than $20. Same for Nerve.

Space 34 (though not on South Beach), will more than likely not charge more than $50 to get in that weekend, way less if you show up before 2 or so.

Well, I'll apologize if you were offended by Lalo's comment, but I will say he has a valid point, that crobar has sold out for this weekend, after all their rhetoric last year. Well, I guess I'll just have to leave Washington Avenue to a promenade of Escalades (hey that rhymed...man I should tell Ludacris to take a hike...) and go to somewhere more civil, like Downtown, 23rd Street, or West Avenue.

I completely understand your viewpoint.

My first visit to Miami was on a everyday weekend. I enjoy all types of music and I loved Miami for what it was...Diverse....One club I could dance to House, next door was Hip-Hop, and down the street, end the night to some Salsa. Ive never been to Miami for an event like this and I can imagine the difference. I stayed in the Beacon last year in Aug...it was like 129 a night....memorial day weekend almost $300....everyone wants their piece of the pie:stupid:

O and please believe that they are paying.....I went to the clubs for the All Star weekend in ATL this past Feb....$100 general admission $200 and up VIP to get in normal clubs that cost no more than $15 a normal night and this was not Puff Daddy and Shaq paying to get in....everyday folks. They have the money....its called priorities, you would be surprised. This year the city of Miami is expecting almost 300,000 people for memorial day weekend. That is not chump change!

blah ! blah ! blah ! who cares .. if crobar has decided to go with a hip-hop format for MDW. plenty of other stuff to do, if it’s not your cup of tea.

the social commentary won’t change a damn thing, so just get over it already.

  Well i guess South Beach has lost its last stronghold for Memorial Day Weekend...Shit.......Hip Hop is annoying, the artists dont change neither does the music. Plus, Im gettin tired of seeing all the bling bling. Maybe someone should come up with a new concept. How big can rims go? literally.....I will be on the mainland the whole weekend away from Sobe!
