orlando was once the epicenter of all things dance in the US but has sharply fallen to the wayside due to local gov't tampering, club raids, shitty additudes, and a group of local dj elite that controls the scene and keeps the music consistently mediocre. but for the true music fan and the true get fucked mentality there are a couple of things that beat the odds.

downtown; Icon (Central Ave.) will host the prog brilliance of Nick Warren on July the 7th. Tabu (Orange Ave.) has the closest thing to a South Beach atmosphere, with a beautiful layout and Orlandos prettiest people - the music is also an uninspired take on the South Beach euro-trance meets handbag house but hey ur in orlando so dont think too much. a sick little bar recently opened up called Antigua (Church St.) which is also holds a miami influence and is a pretty fun place to chill.

the groove @ citywalk (located off Kirkman rd. in the Universal Studios park) hosts Ritual every saturday with Noel Sanger, last week saw Jimmy Van M and continues to bring in the nicest in prog this side of miami! easily the sickest club in orlando with a breathtaking theatre type layout, 3 stunning chillout rooms (including a mayan temple and the inside of a spaceship!) and orlandos best sound system the groove would be the shit with a little underground suppport.

forget about after hours cuz there arent any, orlandos nazi-esque local gov't has done a horriffic job of shutting down just about every thing worth going to. if your downtown and feeling brave check out h2o for some bland orlando breaks and an oxygen bar. they stay open til 6am and it can be somewhat fun (warning: cops are known to frequent this place - you can party there but mind your p's and q's!)

well theres the Orlando scene summer report. Miami is just 4 hours away thank the Goddess ! Some one get me out of here !
