  1. can you guys let me know what parties sound interesting in miami 4 new years ? (especially prog house, tech-house related) ?
  2. c'mon guys just a simple response please ! it will only take two seconds to do..
  3. i live in orlando and need to know - i have a flier for deep dish tonite as being +18 but wont be able to get down there til friday - is the age thing just for weds. or is it all nites now (friday & saturday in particular) ? thanks in advance... if the answer is a resounding No, are there any +18 things to do this friday & saturday ??
  4. is there any kind of map available online or elsewhere that shows the current locations of the clubs in south beach and surrounding miami ? i havent been to your beautiful city since last years conference, and i had trouble finding shit last year - plus i know there are new clubs, and name changes, and clubs taking over old locations, and blah blah blah. does something like this or something similar in nature exsist ?
  5. well i guess accirding to the miami arena website that it does have a section for festival seating depending on the size of the crowd but for the most part it will indeed be stadium seating. i guess the set will go out live on pete tong's essential mix show.
  6. expect an old washed up rave dj that can only get attention these days by talking shit about todays talent. some recent cliams to fame are being booed off the decks in ibiza for dropping gangsta rap songs in the middle of a house set, also remixing gary numan and inxs. this guy is a clown and he fucking sucks.
  7. the question i have is what is the inside of the miami arena like ? is it usually a sports arena ? does it have stadium style seating ? or festival stlye seating ? obviously everyone would rather see them @ a club - but after reading the following (reprinted from the gu board) my opinion might be starting sway a little.... (New York, NY February 20, 2002) Nothing you do will prepare you for it. Make no mistake, Sasha and John Digweed¹s Delta Heavy Spring 2002 Tour will be the most unforgettable, surreal DJ event to ever hit America. The DJ experience can and should be more, and they couldn¹t be happier about raising the bar. Pioneers of DJ culture, Sasha and John Digweed are once again planting the seeds of change with the Delta Heavy Spring 2002 Tour. This time, they aren¹t simply bringing their amazing music, but an entire arsenal, including devastating sound provided by the amazing Phazon Sound System, their own specially designed visuals provided by Imaginary Forces, plus interactive lighting that will respond to both the crowd and music. Each venue installation will be built from scratch and the production values will set a technological benchmark for DJs and herald the definitive S&D experience. The Delta Heavy Spring 2002 Tour isn¹t just different, it¹s a revolution a reinvention of the DJ experience. Playing together, Sasha and John Digweed are already legends. To legions of discriminating fans, they represent something magical and vital. They¹ve done so by remaining true to themselves and doing what felt right. It¹s that sincerity-coupled with their formidable talent-that has made them favorites with American crowds. From extensive U.S. tours to their celebrated residency at New York City¹s Twilo, their ecstatically praised performances have captivated hearts and minds. And with Delta Heavy, they¹re taking things even further. The Delta Heavy Spring 2002 Tour is being produced by Kevin Lyman, President of Immortal Records Touring and Events, who produced the Warped Tour and worked in conjunction on the Lollapalooza tours. Kevin now brings his expertise to the world of electronic music. "It¹s a new challenge to bring the creativity of electronic music to a multitude of diverse venues" says Kevin. "It¹s also an honor to work on the first Delta Heavy, because it¹s a long term project. Hopefully, the Delta Heavy name will become synonymous with quality". While the magnitude of the Delta Heavy Spring 2002 Tour¹s scale of production will elevate it into the consciousness alongside shows put on by Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, U2 and Jane¹s Addiction, the DJ duo are determined to not only make the events special, but also personal. "Since we¹ve did our first tour in OE96, we¹ve watched the American scene grow and hopefully we¹ve grown with it," says John and Sasha. "The Delta Heavy tour gives us an opportunity to play in cities we¹ve never played in before and bring something special to each and every event." Helping spread the message is Imaginary Forces. Visionaries behind the mesmerizing opening credit sequence in the film Seven, among many other high profile projects, Imaginary Forces aren¹t simply providing the visuals for each event, but are leading a national campaign to establish an entire aesthetic. Karin Fong, creative director of Imaginary Forces says, "For us, developing the Delta Heavy experience means creating the story and look for their entire identity. Delta Heavy represents a OElost civilization¹ that has a past, present and future. Using a tribal theme, we¹ve designed alter-egos for Sasha and John and are expanding the family of characters to include Jimmy Van M. Between all of us we are developing a concept as strong as the music, creating a world with both a sense of mystery and a sense of humor. We are experimenting with ways of connecting with an audience regardless of whether they are at the gig or reading about us in the media." Co-conspirator to the Delta Heavy Spring 2002 Tour is New York¹s Jimmy Van M. Not only did he help develop the Delta Heavy concept, as the opening DJ, he is the master of ceremonies, setting the mood for each event. "Together with Sasha and John, we will use Delta Heavy to provide future support to the artists, DJs and music we believe in," he says. Like their music, with the Delta Heavy Spring 2002 Tour, Sasha and John Digweed are pushing out the boundaries of perception and imagination. It will be the event by which all other DJevents are judged. 10. you are headed to the number one southern college destination for spring break in the nation. that should tell you something about the kind of nightlife to expect. the only 1/2 way decent club there (and thats considering that your in daytona) is 600 north. if your lucky, there might be some dj's leaking over from the wmc. last spring break had paul oakenfold and d:fuse. you can check out www.plazaresortandspa.com for some details. i would advise you to smoke a lil crack or do some meth when you come down so that you can get into the mindset of the typical daytona spring breaker and you will be more at ease. good luck !

  18. hola everyone - i was browsing around cdnow's advance orders section and found these 2 upcoming cd's : dave seaman 'renaissance america vol.1' 02/05/2002 sander k 'essential mix' 03/19/2002 does anyone have any details on these? i like seaman and usually like the renaissance cd's (excluding the howells & warren one of last, i really didnt like those at all) and since he is doing the next GU cd i found that kinda odd. their were rumors that they were going to release sander k's essential mix from last year (which won best em of the year btw) on cd and i am assuming the rumor was indeed true and this will be that. too bad i have had that on disc for the past 4 months but wtf? so does anyone have any info on these .........
  19. okay mia residents ... is that a No to my question then ? :spin2: :spin2: is there a possibilty of the event going down tastefully and funlike ? should i just not even consider it then ? i really just want to see digweed while he's in fla so does anyone know where he might be spinning independently ? he did a pre-conference party up here in orlando last year, so maybe i'll get lucky again this year.
