weyes
one should be very careful about what one says to new parents about their babies; they can be hypersensitive and take comments in ways they weren't intended. a good example of this is to tell a new mother that "her daughter is cute" when you are not 100% positive that it is a girl, and it turns out to be a boy. parents may take it very personally and think that their son must be some kind of freak if you can't tell what sex he is, or the parents may just feel that you are insulting their precious little one with your ignorance. at any rate, all of this can be avoided by choosing more general words. if you were to say, "you have such a beautiful baby," the parents would be happy, and the compliment would be taken as it was meant .tune in tomorrow.
