THE GRAND PRIZE... -$1000 CASH -1 Pioneer CDJ 100 -The winner will mix URB/SCION's fall CD sampler (470,000 copies made and distributed across the US) -the opportunity to perform live at a Scion event RUNNERS UP... -9 runners will receive promotional gear from sponsors -your mix will be posted on www.spectremusic.com THE CONTEST... -there are no limitations as to the type of music...it can be any style, any genre...you can do whatever you want as long as its fresh...no multi-tracking. -the mix should be less than 45 minutes... -all the fine print details are below...so make sure you peep em! SEND ALL ENTRIES TO... SCION DJ CONTEST c/o URB 2410 Hyperion Ave LA CA 90027 The RULES (aka fine print): 1. Mixes must be made live on turntables. No digital sampling, multi-tracking, tape-editing or other "digital tinkering" is permitted. 2. Write your name, address, telephone number, and email address (if available) on the CD or the Tape case. Entries missing this information will automatically be disqualified. 3. Length of mix should not exceed 45 minutes. 4. Entries must be postmarked by June 23,2003. Winners will be notified by phone. 5. Winner will receive tracks provided by URB to be remixed. Winner will produce mix with tracks provided by URB with a deadline to be decided upon after entries are all received. Mix should be no longer than 74 minutes. 6. Winner will send CD via Federal Express to URB magazine to arrive no later than August 29th, 2003, unless otherwise notified. 7. Winners will be determined by a panel of URB representatives. Judges' decisions are final and non-negotiable. 8. URB contributors and employees, along with employees of contest sponsors, are not eligible to enter. 9. Limitations of liability: By entering the contest, contestant agrees that (1) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with the Contest, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; (2) any and all claims shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs only; (3) In no event shall URB magazine, Native Son Media, Inc., Scion, or any of the respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, shareholders, employees, or agents be responsible to contestant for any damages or attorney's fees and (4) under no circumstance will any contestant be permitted to recover, and contestant hereby expressly waives any and all rights they may have to claim punitive, incidental, general consequential and/or an type of damage from URB magazine, Native Son Media, Inc., Scion, or any of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, shareholders, employees, or agents. General release: By entering the contest, contestants hereby release URB magazine, Native Son Media, Inc, Scion, and any other promotional sponsors and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliated companies, directors, officers, employees, representatives, and agents from any and all liability whatsoever for any claims, costs, inquiries, losses, and damages related to personal inquiries, death, damage to, loss or destruction of property, negligence, copyright infringement, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation or portrayal in false right.
