I'll try and push it threw to press so you guys can read it....Like i said this is partialWord is okie got 45k for his gigs... Then i was told it was 45k each night:eek: Final numbers that i settled with from my sources were a grand total of $95,000.00:eek: :eek: And they wonder whats wrong with the scene.....NV:Sound = old space.... needs to be unpgraded. Years away from funktion... not bad, does the job, fills the room nicey, but damm my ears hurt.... Lights= could be sick, greg from space was working them, they have these three huge vid screens against one wall of the dance floor, it was cool, but a little too bright... However the entire club is dark, not real dark, almost old space dark. Just the screens made it too bright at times.. Word is greg only had one day to get it up and running, so they need to tune it. However the lights provide that underground feel that is now gone with disney 34...Club itself..Smart design... K.I.S.Skeepitsimplestupidand they did exactly that. one huge room, probably 50 yards by 40 yards.. almost sqaure...see my crude mock up...Club is like Exit vs old space... Not sure why i get a club exit feel there, but i do. Maybe it's the color... But it's certainly way more underground feel than disney 34..... the celings are about 5 feet taller than old space.. Perfect!!!! no traffic problems at all...Staff was nice, franky from nj was working the bar, he took care of us all night... bathrooms are nice, small but very clean...okie is a aliright dj.. turns his back on the crowd wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much, i thought that was rude considering people paid 40 bucks to hear him... he played justin timberlake and i was pissed, so i found out who his manager was and wanted to speak to him... begining of the set was horrid!! really bad... 93.1 bad!!!but once he got going he was really good. We danced for a couple hours, he built it up with nice progressive tunes... Played southern sun... which shows how avg of a dj he really is... I was told he gets 300 tracks a week and this asshole plays SOUTHERN SUN:confused: JUST HORRIBLE!!!!though he did drop a track that i'm saying right now is the best track of the calendar year.. hands down...Renni Pilgrim - Zero - comming out on perfecto.... thanks for the id ogmiami progressive funk with breaks!!! best way to describe it... at first the crowd was like WTF is this, and all of sudden they got into it....so did i and hog and lots of ass.. dopest track right now!! hands down... and i was also told its one of okies top 5 tracks right now.. I guess i have a good ear:Dafter southern sun, he preceeded to kick us in the balls. it went all down hill from there.. ended really bad... just noise... okie is more about being a celeb than being a dj... and i've never seen a dj in my entire life get sourounded like he did like a hollywood movie star... i guess thats cool. over all, rivera and og still are the best two djs in florida....and i hear NV got Rivera... we'll see on that one though and john cremer and stephanie(sp) k are comming to NV....i would like to thank ogmiami, nice finally meeting you, thanks for last night, and man your wife is a natural beauty.... she was a sweetie... tell her thanks as well, i know she doesn't read this board...ps ogmiami you look just like Manny the greek, a NJ dj... and yes, LP was chilling at NV in the booth, i shook his hand and gave him a autotgraph and sent him packing...well i did shake his hand.. but he didn't want the autograph:( 6 dollar beers suck, drinks are way overpriced... things i'd fix...1. lights, tweak em, and turn the brightness down on the vid screens.2. rip entire sound system out3. never let padilla touch the decks again... okie got off and this moron played trance.... horrible, we left right then4. drink prices.. 5. a little too bright, but not bad...6. section where they were selling t shirts is gay, get rid of it asap!!i saw the owner, guy is a like a kid... young guy... And word is he and LP almost squarded up one night, cause LP was passing out flyers in front of his club, i think LP tried to sucker the nv owner into it, and the guy fell for it, and LP himself was caught at Level passing flyers out... how sad!!!! NV to me, doesn't seem to up to task to play hard ball with spacious and his merry band of clueless fucks.. LP is gonna crush them, unless NV calls their cousins, vinny, johny and louie from chi town... NV right now is the fav to go out of business. Why is simple, nocturnal is gonna be best club in america with best sound.. I already know the sound, its sick!!! Crobar 24 is a go! so one has to go, so right now NV will be in huge trouble, which sucks causs it's a much better club than disney 34... oh and i abused the guys last night passing flyers out for space wearing a star wars outfit.... :laugh: Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Nice seeing POD;)On to NV - First off, I dig the club set up.. I think it's pretty nice... Its darker than than 34, but still needs some work.. I like the big screens on the dance-floor - now you just need to do some creative movies or videos and that shit will be tight!!Not sure of the sound system in there, but ugh, turn your highs down... They were very distorted and hurt my ears... I think the bass needs to be up too.....Oakie threw down an all right set.... He is like a movie star ----> people were going nuts to touch him. I did get to shake his hand since I happened to turn around and he was right there.... I think DP opened and he did a good job... Oakie comes on and plays well for the most part... we were on the dance floor!! Have to admit, that tune Saleens talking about, RP - ZERO was bad-ass.. lots of guido fist pumping coming from the crowd:laugh: End of Oakies set was not good... I was ready to jet... I think DP closed and he was terrible.. wasn't feeling anything he threw out at the end...Overall, I wish the club lots of luck... I think it's great that downtown is blowing up... Guest saleen351 Posted July 27 Report Share Posted July 27 okie went on at 140 ish till about 4am ish...i didn't look at my watch.... lots of hot chicks in the house.... mad hotties every where..I don't want people to read my review and think i'm writing NV off, i want to make sure that people know it was opening weekend and its not even done and they paid $95,000.00 for a dj and probably lost a bundle on the whole thing, but they had the balls to do it, so i think they will have big things planned...they did around 800 peeps before okie got off the decks, not sure what the ivano crowd did, but that was 800 peeps that weren't at space... thats the way i look at it... plus 800 X 30 or 40 dollar cover.... if cover was lower, they would have done 1500 with no problem... just okie was too much dough.. who would pay 20 at space and 40 at okie?? so few went to both last night...NV is dope, i'll def be back.... i had a great time...PS this club is built for Stryke.... with the vid screens it could be techno heaven...also, i think okie won't get booked ever again in south florida.. you'd have to be an idiot to book him again.. too much dough for not enough go... OG and RR put him to shame... But oakie markets himself better.. So don't look for PO to be back anytime soon..That motherfucker LP is a sharp guy.. Yea he was pissed about nv and but after seeing only 800 peeps he now knows he never has to worry about oakie out pulling space... Saleen good prediction i saw oakie @ centrofly in nyc on 4th of july and it was only 20 bucks the last times he played nyc he pissed off alot of people by playing 2 hour sets and 50 dollar cover in big clubs such as exit...I dont think oakie chose to play at centrofly cause that a big step down for him and only about 800 people showed as well Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
