joecrack13 Posted September 18 Report Share Posted September 18 Im from the NY board...someone posted that WMC is almost definitely getting moved to Vegas in 2004...now ive heard this for quite a while and i think it would be the biggest mistake to move it there...its probably the most overrated place ive been to...theres nothing to do during the day except gamble and sit by the pool...WMC would probably fail there just for that reason alone...theres no outdoor venues for daytime events which WMC heavily relies on and gambling would take away people from the venues...the clubs are rather small as well....either way if someones got any info (from an inside source or personal knowledge) on whether this is fact or fiction please let me know...ill go to miami regardless if WMC is moved to vegas anyway...miami was built for an event like that though..cheers Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

pod Posted September 18 Report Share Posted September 18 The WMC organization started the conference...they have an actual, daytime conference, where DJs used to get together and talk business...the parties grew up around it...most are unsanctioned by the WMC organization, which pisses them off royally...Now the DJs conduct business poolside at the hotels, in the clubs, and so forth...in general it's regarded as stupid to blow a few hundred on a WMC badge nowadays...But this WMC has no authority over the parties you go to...
