  10. I don't think the Marlins are done in Miami. I surely hope not! I think MLB doesn't want the Marlins to leave from here either. A few things why baseball is not working as well as it should be down here in South Florida: 1) The weather. I'm sorry, but sometimes the weather outside is unbearable. It's hotter than hell! Who wants to sit for 2-3 or more hours watching a baseball game. The casual fan does not want to do this. Also take into account the rain. People may be planning to go to the game, they see the dark clouds, then decide not to go. A dome would be ideal! 2) Fans. No, not that the South Florida fans suck, it's because South Florida has a collection of people from all over the country, the world! You don't have that core group of "fans" who grew up watching baseball in this area. Yes, you have fans from other areas like New York, Chicago, Boston, etc. but once a fan of a team you grew up with, chances are you will always be a fan of that team. There is no tradition to live up to here. It takes people who have lived here most, if not all their lives to start a tradition of supporting a local team IMO. 3) Location. There isn't as much public transportation to/from the stadium as in other markets. Just my 2 cents...
  11. Things are definately different around these parts....
