Rule number two: Keep your feet on the floor. Police say a dispute over one patron's ringing cell phone and another's feet on a seat led to a stabbing during a showing of ‘‘House of the Dead.'' Jose L. Pujols, 27, of 1 Torrey St., Dorchester, was arrested on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He was released on bail pending arraignment today at Quincy District Court.Randolph Police Lt. Richard Crowley said the stabbing took place shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday at the Showcase Cinemas on Mazzeo Drive.Crowley said Pujols stabbed a man sitting behind him in the foot because he was resting it on the back of Pujols' seat.Pujols had been ignoring the man's requests to turn off his cell phone, which was ringing frequently.‘‘When the victim asked the defendant to shut his cell phone off, the defendant refused,'' Crowley said.He said the victim, identified only as a 37-year-old Randolph resident, was at the movie with his family.The man's daughter had her feet on the back of Pujols' seat, but she removed them when Pujols said something.But when the man asked Pujols to turn off his cell phone, Crowley said, Pujols refused.That's when the man's feet went up on the back of Pujols' seat and Pujols stabbed the side of his foot, Crowley said.‘‘It sounds like he stabbed him at an awkward angle, lessening the s*****ty of the blow,'' Crowley said.The wound did not appear to be serious, and Crowley said the victim told police he would seek medical attention on his own.Officers working a paid detail at the theater were told of the incident by management. Pujols was still in the theater when police arrived.The knife was recovered from Pujols' truck in the theater parking lot, apparently taken there by another member of the group, Crowley said.While searching the truck, police also found a small amount of marijuana and charged Pujols with possession of the drug, Crowley said.
