djprotege
no surprise here...hiph-hop has been dominating sales for the last 5 years. And it will continue to for the next 5-10I remember a point this summer when MTV News had one of their small little 10 to the hour news breaks that said it was some kind of history because for the first time ever in soundscan and billboards history 7 of the top 10 albums were hip-hop and r&b and 10 of the top 15 were the same. Times, they are a changin....

When Jay did resonable Doubt everyone loved him and now a lot of people say he's a sell out to the streets. Same thing wit 50. When he was making mixtapes before he dropped his 1st LP everyone loved him, but when he sold millions he became a sellout. Everyone hates on a successful person. Oh well. You hit the nail on the head....the majority of people these days hate someone who is more successful than them. Plain and simple....for as many people who love people like Jay-Z, J-Lo, 50, and so on...there will be just as many people who hate them for their success. These people wont say its because of their success but we all know its true. That goes for anything these days....hip-hop it 50 or Jay-Z...dance music its Louie DeVito or Tiesto. Acting its Will Smith or J-Lo. Its just a simple fact, successful people will be hated on.
