yes, i was planning that last year.

Now i have a wrx motor in the car. TEC3 running her.

Also ver.6 type RA tranny, no DCCD. Better for rallying that way, also alot less wires to tap in.

Not on the road yet but will be with in the next few weeks.

well, how much ground clearance are you going to have if you do?

if i remember correctly, mustangs usually sit really close to the ground when lowered to a good fenderwell gap

i have about 2 inches of room

i wanted to lower it, but it already scrapes the ground

is there something i can add to prevent this like a lining or a metal lip

not really...

you COULD add a metal plate or something of the sort, yes... but in the end it's a plastic or fiberglass bumper hitting solid pavement. Metal plate or not, it's going to crack. :(

this is why i'm foregoing a bodykit when i get coilovers.

What kinda car are you putting the coil overs in, and what kind are you goin to get?

L46183, you can always get a skid plate for your car, but that will only prevent the oil pan and headers from being destroyed.

Also you usually only find those kinda things on Subarus and Mitusbihis.

91 MR2 Turbo and...

uh...

haven't decided which coils yet. Was leaning towards the Tanabe ProSS or JIC FLT-A2's as the "failsafe" solution to a good all-round coilover system, but i'm not sure. The car's a daily driver as well as a weekend autox warrior and I take 4 hour trips from albany to long island regularly... and my roomie's JIC's on his wrx were unbearably stiff. NYC roads would probably kill them fast.

the other shitty side effect of coilovers is that it actually reduces the amount of space available for a tire/wheel combo on my car. Kind of defeats the point doesn't it? The stock spring/strut assembly sits above the tire, so there's actually more room to fit rubber without a coilover than with. Supposedly some newer coilovers coming out will address this issue [plus the fact you have to run much lower offset wheels to fit in the same space]... but i think it's all a bunch of bullshit. Plus the spring rates for MR2's are all schizophrenic.

so who the hell knows. i'll probably end up racing a tricycle with hoosiers.
