erickamikaze
Yeah, when I used to DJ parties I always had a good meal before hand, got some extra sleep, and my two secret drinks:Gatorade, Red Bull, and Vodka, all mixed up.Coffee and Vodka
philippio
another nice combo is sambuca over ice with a shot of espresso like the italians do it. If you're brave, you can garnish with 3 unground espresso beans. ANd like Matt said, whenever there's espresso involved, remain in close vicinity of a toilet!!!That said...My favorite espresso brands (of the ones available in Miami)...1.) Illy (medium or dark roast)2.) Danesi3.) Segafreddo4.) LavAzza5.) Starbucks Espresso Roast (the trick to this one is that you have to buy the beans and grind them in the machine yourself because the ground one isn't ground finely enough, IMO)
eKiTeL
also drink like half a gallon of water before you goif you like energy drinks then seek out Hannsen's, it's great tastes better, has vitamins and stuff, or there's one in a can that looks like a bullet, from Arizona (iced tea) that quite good as well, Red Bull really sucks and tastes like shit, avoid at all costs!another great way to get your caffeine is from Guarana... and I don't mean guarana based drinks or extracts, you need to get the capsules (or caplets) based on the whole ground guarana seed, which is easy to find at any health food store... the great thing about it is it has a natural time release mechanism for the caffeine, which is naturally suspended in fat which slowly releases the caffeine as it dissolves, in order to maximize the time release effect you're supposed to eat is like 20 minutes before a meal, that way it gets loaded into you digestive system correctly, the other thing is it contains sapponins, which are very good for you, though I can't remember whyand for Espresso my favorite is of course BUSTELO! the whole beans ground right there on the premises at your favorite cafeteria, and be sure to tip the server, especially since you'll be paying at least a dollar less than what you'd pay for that crap they serve at Starbucks
philippio
I've only gotten Bustelo at the supermarket and I can't say I was very impressed. Pilon is so so as well. With Starbucks, it's the opposite. If you order it in the store, it sucks. But if you get the espresso and do it yourself, it's much better. The thing I can't stand about Starbucks is all the million coffees and terminology that they use. I can't go in there and order a coffe that's got a ton of shit in it to make it taste like anything other than coffee. All that fucking caramel, peppermint and hazelnut and vanilla crap is pointless. I thought it was supposed to be about good tasting coffee not some liquid that started out as a lame excuse for coffee until a ton of other crap was injected into it!!! I like my coffee to taste like coffee and I like it strong!

I like my coffee to taste like coffee and I like it strong! pilon sucks, bustelo is the shit, but you have to know how to make it, and if you're doing it a home you need to whip the sugar with a few drops of "pre-coffee" in order to get the "espumita" effect tricks you learn working 9-5 at any office in Miami (that employs cubans )
