Guest cassiamor Posted April 14 Report Share Posted April 14 Internationally renowned DJ/producer Jimmy Van M will take to the decks at Embassy on Sunday, April 18th, 2004. Mark your calendars now as this event promises to be one of the most exciting and talked about in Boston’s recent nightlife history. Brought to you by Cassiamor Productions and Entropy Events, this night will feature a two and a half hour set by one of the brightest and most talented DJs in the industry. Jimmy Van Malleghem, a.k.a. Jimmy Van M, is most notably recognized for launching Northern Exposure, the first North American DJ tour for the legendary Sasha and John Digweed. This tour was responsible for bringing the progressive dance sound to many of the clubs throughout the US, and led to a monthly residency for all three DJs at the famed club Twilo in New York City. In 1997, Jimmy and partner Chris Fortier set up the Balance Promote Group, establishing themselves as the premiere promotions company in the US, holding exclusive booking rights to many of the UK’s top DJs, including Sasha, Digweed, Nick Warren, Dave Seaman and Quivver, to name just a few. Jimmy also helped organize Sasha and Digweed’s Delta Heavy Tour, one of the most extravagant productions in dance music history. Jimmy has also excelled in the studio, producing under the monikers Eros Euphony and the Freelance Ice Breakers with partner Sean Cusick. Successful releases with Cusick, as well as solo work on such labels as Bedrock, Fire and Fluid Recordings, have solidified Jimmy as not only an excellent DJ, but a top-notch producer as well.Opening this very special night will be two of Boston’s most talented and up-and-coming jocks. Omar DB from Entropy and JayP from Cassiamor will set the vibe for the evening. These two DJs have been making names for themselves throughout the city, with Jay previously holding a residency at one of the largest and hottest clubs in Boston, Pravda 116, and currently hosting a weekly at the swank News Lounge. Jay’s signature brand of sleek, stylish and deep progressive house is sure to heat things up. Omar DB, although young in age at 22, has already accomplished much in the city. Originally hailing from Spain, Omar has made guest appearances at the biggest and best clubs in the city, such as Avalon, Embassy, Modern and Aria. Omar recently started the monthly club night Entropy at the gritty Axis/ID on Landsdowne Street. Expect the unexpected from Omar, with anything from quirky electro to his homegrown Mediterranean beats.This event will be held at Embassy, located at 36 Landsdowne Street.
