Reunion Party

Farley Jackmaster Funk

When a new style of music first cracks the pop charts, the hit is usually a deliberate crossover by an artist having little to do with the music's original pioneers. The first house single to reach the charts, however, was recorded by seminal Chicago DJ and producer, Farley Jackmaster Funk. His cover of Isaac Hayes' "Love Can't Turn Around" made the Top Ten in mid-1986 -- ironically, not in his home country but in the U.K. -- at the same time that he was one of the biggest names in Chicago house. Born in 1962, Farley began DJing while still a teenager. He first made his name in 1981, broadcasting on Chicago's WBMX-FM with Ralphi "The Razz" Rosario, Kenny "Jammin" Jason, Mickey "Mixin" Oliver and Scott "Smokin" Seals as the Hot Mix 5 -- the legendary DJ team which broke house music for a wider Chicago audience. Farley also appeared at the legendary Warehouse club (mixing alongside Frankie Knuckles) and then began a residency at the Playground (later the Candy Store) which set in stone his reputation as one of the city's top DJs.

Fast Eddie - LIVE!

DJ Fast Eddie needs no introduction. At least, not for anyone who has tracked house music since the mid-'80s. He is as integral to the house movement as Marshall Jefferson, Todd Terry, and Kevin Saunderson. Why? In the early '90s, in the wake of acid-house, Eddie and his Chicago counterparts pioneered a new musical genre they coined hip-house. By fusing house tempo beats with old-skool hip hop percussion and rhyming, Eddie set the standard for this new genre, challenged only by Doug Lazy and Tyree Cooper. With that in mind, you might be surprised to hear Eddie's essentially deep, moving house for Real Estate. "Encore" and "Solar Soundscape," both taken from Future House Society Vol. 2, fuse acidic synths with deeper house grooves. A million miles from "Yo Yo Get Funky," "The Whop," "Jack To The Sound," and "Hip House," but not quite so far from "Acid Thunder."

DJ Jes

Jes keeps himself and fresca recordings involved in the cultural arts in Chicago by performing at several events for local nonprofit associations. Since the proiekt's inception, Jes has been an integral part of the musical aspects of these events bringing art and music together to create unique environments to propel the artistic aspect of our digital culture, many sound breaking events have taken place through the Conjugate Project including, Motionness: the Chicago El Train Event, Resonance Part One: An Afternoon of Audial Stimulation in Grant Park, and the original Conjugate Project which inspired us all to continue this artistic endeavor.

Paul Anthony

With hard work and determination, Paul has become a staple in the Midwest elctronic music scene. In the year 2k Paul headlined many major events and one club event in particular where RaveWorld.net was filming the "PitchBlack" tour night in Chicago . Paul was filmed that night playing along side deejays such as Carl Cox, Gene Ferris, Doc Martin, Nigel Richards you can see this all on the dvd version of "Pitchblack." The attention had continued to grow into 2001 as Paul Anthony was feature in Underground Construction's "Four X's Harder" mix compilation. The cd was available across the nation and gave Paul more exposure throughout the electronic music scene.
