patois
Wish more Mondays could be like this one. My friends and I arrived a bit late, when Darude had already begun. It's great for the DJ to be on the same level as the crowd, in such an intimate setting...a setting which doesn't lend itself to dancing so much. But Darude revved things up in the normally more sedate venue and got feet moving...to me, there's something wrong when dancing and great music don't go hand in hand.Everyone seemed in very good spirits also....I was very happy to finally meet Buster. Can't wait for Wednesday! My friend Natasha also enjoyed meeting Buster and exchanging a few words in her native language of Swedish with Darude, who's from Finland. It was also nice to see Dan and Eric (thanks for the CDs, Eric:) It was also one of those nights which just kept on going...before we knew it, it was around 3 am and Darude was finishing his set. Very solid beats, not so much melody, few vocals, mainly straight-ahead rhythm, that seemed to know exactly where it was going. Cato K then took over - he has a great sense of how different musical patterns fit together, making his transitions so seamless. Here's to Mia's...a not-so-ordinary Monday night....
