Great Documentary series, you will thank me if you watch it.

it is on again right now, a repeat of part two from last night with in depth interviews with Run DMC, and Beastie Boys

It is so funny when DMC talsk about the first time he heard the original " WalkThis Way" and thought it was hill billy music, but he went on to repect and like it.

Of course I loved the backfround info on the Beasties influence,

I saw a special on M2 about the southern hip hop movement (the whole crunk factor) hosted by Lil John (in Miami)

I haven't been into recent hip hop as much but I must respect the frenzy of artists and new sounds they incorporate

Also, they talked about how the artists are opting to skip the big labels entirely in favor of making more $$ per copy sold...they know how to take care of business

Yes the music is rowdy but that's the intention

For the untrained ear it's easy to dismiss as rowdy or even noisy, but there's a lot of thought put into the total production package
