bustersobe Posted November 12 Report Share Posted November 12 Atually the last event with FREESTYLE ARTISTS sold out over 7000 tickets in less than two weeks.I would not have believed it if I did not see it for myself, but it happned. As a boy from BOSTON, freestyle was not that big, but here and in NYC it was massive, and now those peeps have kids. This was a big time for dance music in the us. A time when it could have been said that severall of the top artsits were dance artists. in 1982 Afrika Bambatta was the orginator of the 'SYNCOPATED" sound, then it blew up from there after the death of disco.I am writitng an article for a magazine I publish for the station called PDM (PURE DANCE MAGAZINE) a small 16 page handout from our promotions dept. and in it this month I am writing an article on freestyle.Not really my thing, but anything that elicits that much passion from people is something I am all for.
