"This year, the pricing is laughable. Venues that are at best C+ venues think they can get over $50 a head from a clubgoer? Good luck. They are going to fail as much as venues that are B+ at best and are charging $75 for giving you nothing.""When choosing a venue for NYE, you need to consider as the clubgoer a) what are you getting, is it worth it, and c) is the price competitve with the market. We comparison shop for everything else in our lives. Why not comparison shop for NYE? If something is over $50 in LA, it better be good, because the competition is pricing their parties very well this year.""Some websites tell you every party under the sun. They say to attend their $75 party in Hollywood, just because it's Hollywood. Only problem - there are parties for $30 in Hollywood that are a hell of a lot better. People aren't stupid. They want their money's worth.""In our selection, we considered five factors in order of importance. "(1) First, we looked at the venue for the party. On NYE, people want to party either at a top venue or a unique venue that says "sexy". Massive event parties on pavement with tents may attract people drawn to the dj lineup but can lack sexiness. Similarly, it's one thing not to wear a tuxedo on New Year's but it's another to wear a bikini to a foam party. And finally, parties that feature a circus act of performers may feel more Halloween and less New Year's. "(2) Second, we looked at the offerings for the party. Does the event have an open bar? Or food? What type of food? "(3) Finally, we looked at price. People don't want to go to the same venue from any other night and pay nearly ten times the price for nothing but a champagne toast at the stroke of midnight.
