BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (CNN) -- A fire in a crowded Buenos Aires nightclub has killed at least 169 people and injured 375, officials said.

The fire began about 11 p.m. (9 p.m. ET) on Thursday during a rock concert in the Republica Cro Magnon disco, in the Once section of Buenos Aires, according to a spokesman in the mayor's office.

Witnesses said there were as many as 5,000 people inside the club when the fire broke out.

is it me, or a whole lot of people have died this year?

in freak type accidents?

Some serious things keep going on......

There's been all kinds of freak things happening lately. We were talking about it at work yesterday. Im no doomsdayer but i really think its happening for a reason. Mother Nature has a way of evening things out and scientists have been saying that the weather has been really strange over the course of the past few years. Coldest recorded winter in 90 years in colorado, off the charts hurricane season here, tsunami in the indian ocean, volcanoes erupting, earthquakes.......the list goes on and on.

And Unfortunately, very FEW people realize these facts, and even fewer realize the imapct of our actions over all these phenomenae. I am very sad to think that our government does not believe in global warming, the greenhouse effect, etc...

"This administration, in catering to industries that put America's health and natural heritage at risk, threatens to do more damage to our environmental protections than any other in U.S. history."

And Here for their record on global warming...

This is just terrible... :punch::no::(

The nexusgroove theory; TMFP + E = TMFP(2) with control of N minus to TMFP

The Human Race is evolving to fucking fast for its own good that nature has to control the masses.

Theory stand point

E + N = TMFP(2)

TMFP = To Many Fucking People

TMFP(2) = To Many Fucking Problems

Summary: Argentina fire kills 174 people

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

CLUB INFERNO: A fire sweeps through a popular nightclub in Argentina's capital while the rock band Los Callejeros is playing, killing 174 concert-goers and injuring about 410.

POSSIBLE CAUSE: While city officials have not given a cause for the blaze, several survivors say they saw a flare fired by a crowdmember hit and ignite the foam lining in the club's ceiling.

LOCKED DOORS: Authorities are investigating accounts by survivors who tried to flee the blaze that the building's emergency exit doors were locked.

Update

OWNER HAS VANISHED: Police want to question the club's owner, who vanished during the inferno. The concert crowd was nearly three times the venue's capacity of 1,500 people, Argentine media reported.

BAND MEMBERS APPEALED TO FANS: Survivors said band members appealed to fans at one point during the show to refrain from lighting fireworks.

DEAD/INJURIES/CRITICAL CONDITION: 175 are dead. At least 714 people were injured, officials said. At least 102 were in critical condition, said Julio Salinas, an official with the Buenos Aires emergency services department.

EYE WITNESS ACCOUNTS: "Someone from the crowd tossed a flare and there were immediately flames," said 22-year-old Fabian Zamudeo. "Parts of the roof started falling down in flames and people started running, knocking over the speakers and light stands. People were choking on smoke and I tried to push as many people out as I could." Witnesses described chaotic scenes of people rushing for the doors, their vision blurred by thick smoke that blocked out emergency lighting. A 22-year-old who gave his name only as Andres said surging crowds pushed their way toward the club's six exits but found some of them would not open."Once the fire erupted, everyone ran for the doors, but there was only one very narrow one open at the exit closest to us. Another wider door next to it was locked," he said.

ALL NIGHTCLUBS ORDERED TO CLOSE DURING NEW YEARS: The city government declared three days of mourning and ordered all nightclubs closed during the New Year's holiday weekend. Pope John Paul II expressed his condolences to victims' families in a message sent to Argentine church officials.
