i Had an amazing time. Rich was on point all night. Started out with some main stream classics. Then went into metro/merge classics. Place was packed the entire night. Stage shows were sick.

The Good: Music was good, not Richies best Classic set though

As Coogs said, the stage shows were real cool

Crowd was great, popped loud for many of the songs like a concert

The Bad: They put Rydell on WAY too late (12:00)

Too many Vocals..... I LOVE vocals but all the core songs that made ML and Merge great were left out..... due to time or what ever else

i also went on friday nite and had a GREAT time--once Richie came on...me and my boy were still exhausted from st pattys day partyin, but once richie came on the place EXPLODED and we started dacning like crazy....definitely a good set by Richie and as everyone else says, i wish they would just let him start up earlier, none of this 12 or 1230 start time...thats weak...but friday was EASILY the best time i have had at Studio 4 yet!

heres an idea...since you wanna see Rydell go on earlier. Its obvious managment isn't goin to listen to a few people so next friday nite get to studio 4 early as possible. Start a Petetion and wait by the door and as soon as people come in have em sign it.

i'm sure if you collect over 500 signatures, something mite happen

another thing when he starts earlier like 10 oclock like he did at metro/merge he is able to create his mood and his vibe the way he wants to. When he comes on so late he doesnt even get to play his disco and "early records" this makes it very hard to have people captivated the way he usually can. We saw how the energy was created on that sunday night party when he played with santana. Richie was able to go on at like 10 and every record just built off the one before it. The energy in the room that night was top notch and it wasnt even close to packed. Also in richies defense he does a phenominal job at creating a vibe and a mood in 2 hours.

There was a certain dj in nyc that WAS working at a certain club nyc club recently, he is one of our favorites also..... Maybe if he had someone giving him the TRUTH and GUIDING him, his party would not have been down to 500 people in a venue that holds 2-3 thousand, if managment had told him to maybe "pick it up a notch", maybe he would still have a residency........

Have any of you noticed how many girls you see every night at studio..there is a reason for that

face it guys....HARD MUSIC with NO VIBE is only appealing when DRUGS are part of the equation. ITS A FACT ...TIME TO EVOLVE. I am NOT talking about GOOD dance music .. i am talking about hard , no vibe, noise.

Its about ASS KICKING BEATS, WITH A FUNKY GROOVE THAT SOUNDS GOOD WHEN YOUR NOT F'ED UP....key word NOT f'ed up.And there is a ton of that music out there that NO DJ in jersey is playing.I wish someone was.

as far as the 3 hour excuse coogs......when the biggest dj s in the world do a guest spot, like tiesto a couple weeks ago at crobar....he went on for 3 hours , and the place was cheering and reacting to EVERY song as if they were at a rock concert for the ENTIRE time .....the 3 hour excuse is not valid, make sense ?

also, i think its funny that the same ones talking about dance music starting earlier (not just people on this board but people at my bar) are the same ones that were next door at xs listening to hip hop last summmer instead of listing to dance at tempts and merge, cause thats where the crowd was....hows that for keepin it real?

George it wasnt an excuse, like i said he does a phenominal job with the three hours he is given, and i see ur point that big name dj's with 3 hour sets rip it, but they have openers that are playing house music so the vibe is different when they come on. Also the drug reference is a bit off in my opinion. I havent done any drugs in years, good music is good music period. Hard music does have a vibe. But it doesnt matter because richie is not playing hard AT ALL. His hardest record that he plays every week is probably danny's cokeman remix or dannys movin up remix which he gets away with because they are "catchy". And as far as classics night goes i felt like i was beatin over the head with classic vocals. He played deep chemical wich there was s stage show to then he played nervous breakdown besides for those 2 semi hard records his set was vocal after vocal. It sounded great and the girls were loving it. I also had a ball with it but were was luna mora or tone king these were records that made metro and merge so memorable yet they were not played because they are deemed too hard. Thats fine. I will still be at studio 4 every week and i will continue to support the club and the party. Bottom line is i have a great time week in and week out. I have yet to miss a friday and i dont see myself missing one any time soon. Because even with the limitations that are put upon him richie rips his set every single week. When the intro to studio 4 and richie set starts and people begin screaming, banging, and chanting i get chills because i know something great is about to happen. Its all about having fun. Sorry to go on like this but i am just voicing my opinion.

I don't want my post to be taken the wrong way. I am just voicing my opinion on a few things. Studio 4 has 3 packed nights. All with in house promotions (no promoters). There is something to be said for that as well. The job you guys are doing on thursday friday and saturday is great. My post is solely about music on fridays that is all.

Its bad enough the real studio fans have to deal w/ Teddy throwing down his famous by the numbers mix cd for hours before we even hear RR as he sets NO vibe, but now we are told no more hard music? If there was more parking do you really think people would get there before 12:30 on Friday?

The best reaction on Friday were for Ride the Trip and Kemical, the only 2 semi- hard songs he dropped, coincidence? . We were not treated to Boots, Cokeman, or even GTI.... That pissed off MORE people than you realize.

IT WAS A VOCAL CLASSICS SET. What club were you at?

That being said, Rydell did amazing considering the rediculous circumstances.

Studio 4 is my favorite club, hope you can take my honesty b/c I only want it to be better: No opener, Let Richie do his thing... I feel your club is a 99 out of 100 btw but you opened it up for constructive criticism on this post.

AMEN sandman! i think if u have 3 nights to work with, that 3 hours is too little for house music, dim the lights fri nights and let richie rip it from open to close (just like METRO)
