So we havent had a good Hotel thread in a while.

I dont know about you, but the hotel is so critical to me for the nightlife experience in Vegas. Choosing the right hotel is so important.

a) It defines what type of trip it is.

It sometimes is the part of the actual party.

c) People stay at Hotels based upon where they are partyinig.

This chick I know, she makes it a point to stay at different hotels everytime, in essence, the hotel choice is part of the excitement of the trip.

Ive gotten allota questions lately about Hotel choices. And for whats it worth, a lot of em are about THEhotel, which is a big favorite on this board.

I first say THEHotel late Spring and I remember being on the phone with a girl from la and saying "HOLY FCK. You cant imagine what this hotel looks like". Allota people luv TheHotel. But choosing the right hotel for you is whats important. Here are some tips.

1. Location Location Location

Where do you want to be, party. Do you like to walk, do you lke to cab, do you want to party in the same hotel's club? Location is critical. Learn the strip if you dont know it. Google a map. And then check where your hotel is and if you dont know how much cabs will cost, ask someone here. Budget, and choose.

2. Square Footage of your Room.

This is critcal. How big is the room? Arguably 750 sq feet (Ballys) is the largest standard room on the strip. How big is your room? Is it a Standard Room? Is it a Suite. And just because its a suite doesnt mean its big. Suites have HUGE ranges in size.

3. Price Comparison/Needs

What do you need. If you need a suite's space because there is a lot of you, dont go for an expensive hotel's standard room. Go for a lesser hotel's expansive suite.

4. AC

This sounds ridiculous but its true. Certain (a few) hotels do not have ac control in your room. It is a central system. Check if your room has individual ac controls. Tip: If the hotel was built in the last 10 years, it definitely has it.

5. Rates

Rates fluctuate like you cant imagine. Check daily, if not every other day.

6. Read, Learn, and Share Info among People You know.

Everyone goes to Vegas. Make it a point to find the tricks that your friends found out. I have 1/2 dozen to a dozen myself Ive learned myself, and many more others have taught. This is not London where its a room, and maybe there is a discount. This is Vegas where the is a broad spectrum of possibilities depending on what you are doing, when you are doing it, and how you are doing it.
