xlr8ted
Lee Burridge takes the globe-trotting life of a DJ one step further as he embarks on a new concept tour called ‘365’ this year. This is a completely different approach to a residency and will be a full immersion in the clubbing culture of each respective host city. Now add a festival with 75,000 partygoers called Loveparade San Francisco and the release of a Sander Kleinenberg collaborated 2xCD called ‘Everybody on Tour’ (Ultra Records, October 2005) and it’s no wonder that Lee is a fast rising DJ above the horizon. That is the life of a DJ from Dorset. A small town in the south west of England, Dorset became the training ground for Lee Burridge who has seen his twenty year career expand from being the “IT†DJ in Hong Kong into a global, jet-setting party maker. And it stands to only get better with his much anticipated ‘365’ world tour. The ‘365’ world tour kicked off in Hong Kong, where Lee first honed his DJ career and subsequently met Sasha & Craig Richards to later become Tyrant in the UK. He just finished summer 2005 in Ibiza and now with two cities under his belt says, “During the first two 365 residencies in Hong Kong and Ibiza it has been very exciting to watch the reaction of the crowds to the music over the four parties. It was an initial aim that the music would affect people differently as they became more familiar with certain tracks and the way I DJ.â€Now the '365' World Tour makes its North American debut in New York City. Lee unofficially kicked off NYC with a secret after-hours gig at APT immediately following the Danny Howells show on Saturday, September 10th. However, the official kick-off to the NYC portion of Lee’s 365 project begins with a special launch party at Opus 22 on Thursday, September 22nd. New York’s own Robots’ Dennis Rodgers will be doing the opening set, and as usual Lee will be bringing his own special brand of twisted, funked-up, hip-shaking sounds to the tables. â€I'm really looking forward to being allowed more than the usual few hours to twist peoples heads in New York as it’s a city I really feel I have a lot more I can offer. I don't usually get the chance to play in more intimate venues but a couple of the parties are in smaller rooms and this is a very different experience, more intense as the after hours party proved. I'm also very excited about playing with Richie Hawtin who I think is one of the best DJs in the world right now. Now that’s going to be a night of incredibly twisted music!†-Lee Burridge on NYCFor the ’365’ residency-based tour, Lee will be taking one to two month-long residences in each city and collaborate with local producers and inviting local guest DJs and PA's in varied locales such as: Hong Kong, Buenos Aires, Melbourne, New York, Denver, Florence & Ibiza. His experiences and collaborations will be released on vinyl throughout the year and a 2xCD compilation album alongside a full album of new, exclusive tracks from the tour will be released in June 2006. LOVEPARADE SAN FRANCISCOLook for Lee to be sharing the love at the LOVELEE: LOVE PARADE PRE-PARTY featuring himself along with Spesh, Scott Carelli & Randall Jones on Friday, September 23rd at Mezzanine, San Francisco. This is the just a precursor to the landmark U.S. electronic music event Loveparade San Francisco taking place Saturday, September 24th, 2005. “I heard how amazing it was last year and so obviously I am completely overly excited at the prospect of getting to play this year’s Loveparade in San Francisco, which if ever there was a city where a Loveparade should be held it’s San Francisco!†– Lee BurridgeLEE BURRIDGE FALL TOUR DATESSeptember 10th NEW YORK CITY @ APT (8am – 1pm)September 15th Mexico City, MEXICO @ Roots with Danny HowellsSeptember 16th Queretaro MEXICO @ QIUSeptember 17th Monterrey MEXICO @ Skizzo Electro ClubSeptember 22nd NEW YORK CITY @ Opus 22 ‘365’ NYC Launch Party (SOLD-OUT!!)www.made-event.com September 23rd SAN FRANCISCO @ Mezzanine www.loveleeparty.com September 24th SAN FRANCISCO @ Love Parade www.loveparadesf.orgSeptember 30th PITTSBURGH @ SanctuaryOctober 1st DENVER @ VinylOctober 7th NEW YORK CITY @ Spirit with Richie Hawtin www.made-event.comOctober 8th ATLANTA @ Eleven50 www.eleven50.com October 9th TORONTO @ GuvernmentOctober 14th CHICAGO @ Sound Bar www.sound-bar.com October 15th KANSAS CITY @ Kabal www.kabalkc.com October 16th MIAMI @ PURE GroovecruiseOctober 22nd MONTREAL @ Aria www.aria-nightclub.comVyto, are we gonna be out in Chi-Town the 14th.. we better be!
