silverbull
Is there a movie like this for house?I have seen Maestro, but that focuses on nyc....The best example i know of is this:15 cd's and a great bookhttp://www.discogs.com/release/43501MAESTRO was a good start for you as you can see how the movement started here in nyc that lead to the birth of HOUSE MUSIC. And here i recommend you watch these there about 1hr each. PUMP UP THE VOLUME (1,2,3)pt1: http://www.music-101.com/images/pictures/pumpupthevolume.ram pt2: http://www.music-101.com/images/pictures/pumpupthevolume2.ram pt3: http://www.music-101.com/images/pictures/pumpupthevolume3.ramAnd for books i recommend you check out "LOVE SAVES THE DAY""MY LIFE AND THE PARADISE GARAGE""YOU BETTER WORK""LAST NIGHT A DJ SAVED MY LIFE"ANd coming out soon keeps getting delayed THE UNUSUAL SUSPECTS documentary which is somewhat of a chicago version of maestro. As well as A NIGHT AT THE GALLERY,gallery being NICKY SIANOS club which was where both LARRY LEVAN and FRANKIE KNUCKLES were taught how to be djs by NICKY SIANO, and if your interested in more history about HOUSE MUSIC let me know and i will refer you to other websites. As for pumpup the volume being that it was made in europe after part 1 you will see the focus more on what was happening in europe during the late 80s early 90s, and it leaves out what was happening in nyc,chi town, and other stuff. Nonetheless its a very good documentary. Maybe one day there will be a reall full recap of the histoy of the culture but i think it will have to be about 12 hrs long or so.
