By the way, while I'm thinking of it, all of you guys should go on Amazon and write up some reviews for Steve's cds. It actually helps sales. Some toolbag left this one for "Porterhouse":

4 of 5 people found the following review helpful:

Ritalin required..., March 25, 2006

Reviewer: Roger Riddell (Lexington, KY. United States) - See all my reviews

(REAL NAME)

This mix was fraught with potential but ultimately marred by an overly hyper case of attention deficit disorder and a vibe towards mix end which almost smacks of something akin to, dare I say, "Happy Hardcore..."

"Porterhouse" sounds like one big peak-time, 26 track train-wreck medley which lasts a duration of 72 seizure inducing minutes, and which manages to slap the listener in the face every 2-3 minutes (if that) with each subsequent "mini" track. Ministry of Sound is notorious for this type of nerve-jangling mix compilation, cramming as many "big room" tracks as possible onto an 80 minute disc.

Steve Porter, while an amazing producer, needs to leave this style of spastic, incoherent mixing to the likes of DJ Dan and remember that quantity does not necessarily equal quality.

Was this review helpful to you? YesNo (Report this)

I know Steve has a lot of people out there who feel otherwise, myself included.
