one should be able to gracefully allow him/herself to be corrected when making an inarguable mistake; when people correct others solely in a good-natured attempt to expand their knowledge, they are not meaning any harm.

an example: the word is "supposedly," not "supposebly." i would tell my boss, but his pride is more important to him than knowing what the word is.
