weyes Posted July 10 Report Share Posted July 10 so, my car wouldn't start on monday, and it wasn't the battery; the radio and lights worked but the starter didn't give it a go. i had it towed to the shop on my block (aaa recommended). they told me that the battery actually was toast, leaking battery acid everywhere, and had been drained by my alarm...i told them i didn't have an alarm, and they informed me that, yes, my used car did. i was surprised... they took that out, and did a full flush of my transmission, too...anyway, $500 bucks later, they reminded me that last time i came in my front axles were jacked and now they're a fix a.s.a.i.c.p.a.b.r.a.s.a.p. (as soon as i can possibly afford, but really as soon as possible) and showed me a broken one they had around. i did some research on the 'net and it turns out that civics seem to have problems w/ axles in general. they told me that'd be another $500 for both, but everyone is telling me that's super cheap, so i'm guessing they'd tell me that to begin w/ and then start adding $$$ as they go along, like mechanics do. and i don't have the money. but my car has been doing some funky shit lately, and now i'm fully freaked .i suppose i'll just charge it to my ever-mounting credit card bill .
