Boat parties - would you?

If there was a cool regular boat party, like the Matter:Form ones in New York - would you go? Maybe Sunday afternoons? What cover would you pay?

Provided the boat was an Aegis crusier with a full complement of Tomahawks so I could sack the coastline and will and do the pillaging and plundering thing, as well as shelling Washington Avenue whenever the Escalade ratio gets too high...while the .deckjunkies. provide my soundtrack. Maybe Craig or Sean can dig up a house remix of Flight of the Valkyries for me.

We all would, but the trick here is convincing enough people to go along with it as well. You gotta factor in the DJ, the boat rental, as well as renting a decent sound system.

A party boat is the way to go and a good alternative to the normal club scene. I have been on several party cruises in South Florida and always have a great time. The last one I attended was on New Years leaving from Ft. Lauderdale and cruising the inercoastal for 4 hours. The price $110 per person, wasn’t bad considering it was New Years, and it included a DJ, Open bar all night, hors-de-vours, champagne, and other food all night.

I think it would be good to keep it to just once per month, that way it doesn’t get monotonous like allot of other events. I am torn between a night and day cruise, but that can also alternate. It looks like PVD beat us to the idea.

Paul Van Dyk Boat Cruise

Paul Van Dyk will be previewing new material from his forthcoming album. 3:30 PM - 6:30 PM. By invitation only.

I will ask around and see what I can come up with.

me! :D

i would def. attend if a boat party, much like Matter:/Form's, would happen here...i was fortunate enough to attend a few (Sander Kleinenberg, Layo&Bushwacka!) while I lived in NYC *sigh*. If I remember correctly, the cover was about $30...

the boat parties were truly a grand time and i think Miami could use this.

oh btw, Hi!, I'm new around here :)

Hey Magda - welcome to CJ!

That's the only small drawback - the cover would have to be at least $30 in order to cover costs, but I think it could be a great party.

you'd forget all about the cost, if an hour of open bar is included before sail :) and if a-list talent was manning the decks...(pun intended)

That would be pretty cool. I know it's cheesy, but 93.1 is already sort of doing this. They are putting a DJ on a casino cruise and charging $9.31 (aren't they cute) for it. Anybody brave enough to try it out?
