Another thing is does arc open later than avalon? is there time to go see sander spin once sasha is done at avalon?

Sorry for all the questions! We're from Montreal and its our first time at an afterhours club in NYC. By the way , does anyone know if we can smoke at these clubs? are they the right places to enjoy a good trip?

To whomever offers it, thanks for the help!!

Spirit is housed in the legendary building formerly known as Twilo.

Nightlife in New York City experienced a taste of new energy at the grand opening of Spirit New York, a revolutionary multi-level experience on December 6th, 2003 with house legend David Morales.

Spirit occupies a two-story, 35,000-square-foot space at 530 West 27th Street that originally housed the legendary nightclubs Sound Factory and Twilo. The impeccably designed two-floor venue has been uniquely transformed by a $5 million renovation that features three distinct zones: BODY, MIND and SOUL.

Body: The main dance floor that holds 1,300 standing, not including the surrounding mezzanine for another 300. Body features Funktion One sound, a spectacle of lighting, and a new type of projection technology that will help create an unparalleled sense of excitement for the midnight hour.

Mind: The wellness center that promises to trigger the explorer as one can learn about the higher consciousness or dabble with the future during a tarot reading. Mind also features a full menu of services from anywhere to the relaxing massage to the dazzling strobes of techno meditation.

Soul: Divine dining at its best. Spirit’s strength is its power to be multi-faceted in many ways. Soul features food of the purest nature, all vegetables, fish, and chicken organically grown and free of any chemical variants. The menu features a delightful array of gourmet dishes and also boasts an impressive selection of specialized elixir’s designed to stimulate one’s Chakra; or natural energy paths within the body.

To help welcome the New Year, Grammy award winners Dirty Vegas are coming to the big apple to perform a DJ set with percussion, on what promises to be a night of debauchery, fun, and insanity, all the while in the positive focused venue that is Spirit. A new venue, a new energy, and a New Year.

Dirty Vegas stormed into the music world in recent years with their hit 'Days Go By’, which led them to the coveted award of 'Best Dance Recording' for the 2003 Grammy Awards. Often correlated with the sleek Mitsubishi commercials which featured 'Days Go By’, this trio from the U.K. proved that electronica could easily flow into the households of millions of people. While this unsuspecting group may have triggered a flurry of new advertising styles fused with electronic music, it should be known that they have been around the dance music scene for quite some time. Also known under the moniker of the ‘Hydrogen Rockers’, they’ve DJ’ed and played the dance music biz for years and even have a record label known as ‘Hydrogen Records’. Grammy or not, one thing is certain, and that is the fact that these boys can get dirty and party it up like no other. This promises to be the event of New Years Eve of 2004.

Joining Dirty Vegas are local DJ/Producers; The Low End Specialists as well as Astro&Glyde

LES (Low End Specialists) have raised eyebrows in the past several years across the globe. With their hit remixes and production they've elevated to the next level in the scene and have played everywhere from Ibiza to Japan and even Bedrock in England. As former Centro-Fly residents, they've proved themselves to be one of the best local DJ's one can find and have played parties with the likes of John Digweed, Anthony Pappa, and DJ Vibe. You want to hear some driving energetic dance with some kicking bass? Mac and Ali will show you how it’s done.

Astro&Glyde have seemingly slid their Dj ways into the eyes of many this past year. The long time local duo is well known amongst the locals for their uncanny ability to charm people to the dance floor as well as always having a great time and doing it all with a smile. James & Gaby have a residency at the long running underground house party phenomenon at ‘Le Souk’ on Sunday nights in the east village. On the global level they’ve played recently with the likes of Lee Burridge, Seb Fontaine, and even Carl Cox at Centro-Fly in June. Be prepared to dance into the New Year!

[glow=red,2,300]Sasha'll probably either start before the New Year rings in or just after and that party won't go much past 5 AM or so. Sander @ Arc may go until much later 8, 10 or maybe even noon on New Years Day because Arc is open "afterhours". They do have an area where cigarettes can be consumed but forget anything else. Other stuff, on the sneak maybe but don't get caught and you can always enjoy a good trip at the above mentioned spots. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year![/glow] :o ;D :D;):)

Tenaglia has been acting whack as of late....he recently parted ways w/ Club Space Miami....and he practically built that club (he was a resident for almost 3 years)....his 20 hour WMC marathon sets are infamous!

Not to mention he completed skipped out on Ibiza last summer........

I still love DT though - elements could possibly be my favorite track eva, and his nitrous oxide remix of 'Flash' is another classic! RECOGNIZE.

ugh. the one time I ever went to danny i nearly committed suicide! not my bag, baby, and he talks into the microphone too much. but to each his own...

if arc loses danny im not sure if that venue will be able to keep their doors open? poor nick @ arc, he tries so hard to make sat nights good there and he is such a great guy --- but from what ive seen, the turnouts arent that great.

Listen up captain fairy trance - don't be talking smack about DT - listen to his remix of "I feel love" and tell me he doesn't rule all things cool! Respect yo' elders. ;) ;D

*Although the talkin' on the mic is a touch annoying - you have to check out his afterhour sets --- he spins for like 12 hours and the first 6 hours of his set are merely a warm-up - he never goes off until early afternoon! "fierceness is always welcome"

true, I enjoy I feel loved....I always have liked that song, its a classic in and of itself-=== i mean, who cant like it====

and as for the whole getting good at noon thing.....I just cant get into that scene....in miami it can be fun to chill on the terrace, drink some coronas and dance gently til noon....but here in new york city after hour events like that is a CRACK PALACE....and i hate it...people are just too fecked up and it grosses me out...in my eyes it overshadows the music...

[glow=red,2,300]Arc will be open after hours, much later than Avalon. I imagine Sasha/Diggers will start just b4 midnight. You can not smoke inside the club but you can outside and the clubs provide access. Tripping is always interesting in NYC especially around the New Year but I wouldn' t recommend carrying or being overly obvious about it. Let me know what you are doing and maybe you can meet up with some Cooljunkie New York people. Happy New Year![/glow] ;)
