Lately I've been hearing about the year 2050 for events & tracks and in some instances in lyrics. Does anyone know the symbolism or is it just another theme like 1999?

You know Clarisa its the first time I heard it but I seen it considered in Movies. I guess its a human infatuation with the future and not knowing whats to come and what to expect.

Yeah we would all be some old farts telling our grandkids about Ultra and Space and how we use to party like there wasn't no tomorrow.By this time Electronic Dance music would be the premier genre in the world. There would be worldwide peace since we dropped the atomic bomb on the middle east.

We would have a latin president by this time and the United States would be more of a free country with no FCC, National Security laws would be eliminated.

What, I think my grandkids would be like... "grandma back in the hay day when you were alive things were different. That was stone age and now it's out of this world."

UUg, by that time I'll 73. I won't be able to enjoy the celebration of 2050 then. :(:P

How do you know? With current advances in genetic engineering, bioelectronics, and nanotech, 73 in 2050 may be like 33 or 43 is today...older, but still quite able to go out and party down if so desired.

No, no, no, all that bioelectrowhatever is too much. I would like to age as naturally as possible. Still 2050 is far from now.

You won't be saying that when you can see what stuff like that can do....yeah I watch too much TLC and Discovery, but aging naturally will be a thing of the past. I don't know about you, but I don't really relish the thought of looking like a prune and having to live on Metamucil all day ;D God willing, I'll be 70 in 2050 and look like I'm 40.

I know it is said in jest, but why is everyone so pessimistic about their lifespans? "Life is short" and all that.

I'm optimistic about my lifespan, personally. ;D In one way shape or form, I hope to (in a healthy state), see 2100.

The human liver can totally regenerate even with 90 percent of the functionality impaired or destroyed. ;D

Organ growth from a template is 20 years away, at most.

45.9 according to this morning's sample. ;D

It is why I support cloning and stem cell research, I'd have to quit drinking so much if I didn't have a liver on standby.

That's the whole concept. On demand backup and replacement of body parts. Next step is digitization of the human mind and consciousness. You live in a virtuality until a new body is grown for you.

Yeah, but that would probably take after 2050!!

.........and by that time, probably 500 more Matrix movies will be made!!!!! ;D
