D.Schwartz
It's not about napster, it's about how many people use napster. If I got some hot new vinyl, chances are that i'll upload it to napster only because its so popular. You gotta support napster because everything else is going to fail sooner or later. ------------------
clubgodraver
i disagree. if anything napsters going to flop first. the U.S. Supreme Court is killing it. Thye already filtered out thousands of songs and napsters usage dropped so much. Eventually they're going to charge a fee and to one is going to be willing to pay for the service if they can't get the latest songs. Secondly, MTV along with big record labels are creating their own file sharing service and charging the same price as they do for regular CD's!! how insane is that. 1$13-18 an album to download and 99 cents to $4 for a single. This is the reason everyone went to napsteri n the first place. OVERPRICED CD'S. They just don't get it.
avenger98
Check out www.Napigator.com has everything you have to use it then it opens napsters format. has tons of stuff that napster doesn't have.
echostar
how did they filter out songs? i havent had any problems downloading lately....do you know any specific ones they took out?------------------

mcs328
Before I heard about Napster I used <A HREF="/cgi-bin/redir.cgi?url=http://www.audiogalaxy.com" TARGET=_blank>www.audiogalaxy.com</A> for the longest time when it used to be called borg.net or something. The ratio thing is fair trade off I think to get the song you want. Making you jump thru porn sites to get 'passwords' is too much of a pain tho for some of the downloads u want.my two cents [This message has been edited by mcs328 (edited 04-10-2001).]
menionleah
yeah what are some file exchange media for movies and stuff, i kno imesh is ok...are there any other good ones that anyone knos about?------------------Our civilization is still in a middle stage, no longer wholly guided by instinct, not yet wholly guided by reason... mangledx
If Napster is shut down by the courts...then all filesharing programs, including audiogalaxy, imesh, & winmx..and so on are done. Thanx Big Brother

Guest saleen351
Facts:1)With shitting napigator you can get EVERY song you want. It sucks though. Just don't choose the napster servers.2) Imesh and guetella CAN"T be shut down. It is impossible. As long as you got in on your computer and someone else does too then IT CAN"T be shut down. It is peer to peer. NO servers involed at all. That is why it sucks and is slooooooooowwwwwwwwwww!!!!3)Large companies and other instutions have servers online with tons of songs. The computer geeks don't tell any one at the company. My buddy at a hosptal has a server with just songs on it. Therefore if he wanted he could make it public just like all the servers on napigator. Therefore someone here can create a server with just house songs on it and use napster and napigator and NO FILTERS. 4. You can use ftp, irc, email, to trade songs with each other. Since people on this board are so hung up on "I got it first politics" I don't see that happening. 5. Any program is absoulty free if you work at it. Type in "key gen" in yahoo and see what you get. If you read and learn you can crack any thing you want. I just learned 2 weeks ago. Boy I love my Nero.6.If you guys search for songs or movies and the sites give you all the pop up shit and screw you computer up, just turn off java and java script in the opions. No more pop ups or trickery, you can see exactly where your going. Must turn it on again for shit like hotmail and games. 7. I have no problem suporting djs but I needthese firstA. at least 5-8 good songs per cd like M. Skib. no one hit wondersc. see them at a local clubd. no 40$ cover charges to see theme. I hate when a week later there is a better mix out already.8. YOU CAN BURN LIVE RADIO ON YOUR PC, THAT IS HOW SOME OF THE BORIS and J.V. ON KTU GOT ON THERE. ALL YOU NEED IS A DECENT COMPUTER, ADAPTEC,A GOOD BURNER, A GOOD RADIO SIGNAL AND THE KNOW HOW. AND THEN YOU CAN RECORD ANY THING ON THE RADIO AND BURN AND MIX AND EDIT and then Share it. Just my 2 cents.
torontotrance
I'll throw my two cents in. Mp3 format is here to stay and there is nothing that the record companies can do. See the record companies are suing everybody for money cause they are going to be paying out a lot in a little while. Here it is, the US Justice Dept is suing the record companies for Anti-Trust violations on CD price fixing. See the rec. companies are going to really get it and I for one cannot wait. Anyways has'nt the record companies actually gained money during napster's existance. It is all about money and if you ask me, people are only concerned about money. That's it, money yet the poor are getting poorer and the rich are getting richer. Our society is screwed up in my opinion. ------------------"No Sound System Is Safe"-Leftfield
