Guest endymion Posted September 10 Report Share Posted September 10 I'm crossing my fingers that it will miss that beach in Negril!I have been through some of the shanty towns in the mountains in Jamaica and I can't imagine what I would do or where I would go if I lived there. People in those shanty towns are living in little five-foot cubicles made out of corrugated metal. That stuff in any kind of hurricane is going to just evaporate. Your options for survival there are a lot more limited if you're poor and most of the people there are really poor. It's very sad to see that storm about to hit the island.
