random topic i thought of recently...

all of them have legit martial arts training..... not many will even know who all of these guys are (they all had movies i caught part of late night once or twice in the 90's) but if anyone out there does, whats your educated opinion?

I say Steven Seagal, he know Martial Arts from all seven continents of the world. The man is trulely a phenom at his prime.

No way, the man trained with Bruce Lee and fought him..

I am shocked nobody choose Brandon Lee, he is bruce's son....for a reason. Its a dam shame he had to die so soon, those Crow Movies were awesome, I was a big fan of his when I was smaller.

[/quote']I think Brandon Lee is bad ass as well but he's a little slower than Speakmen and doesn't have the killer instinct that Segal has........

i was curious, so here are the stats:

Seagal

-Started at the age of 7, moved to Japan to study at 19.

-7th degree black belt in Japanese Aikido

-was instructing in Los Angeles when he came to the attention of Hollywood.

-a Master in Japanese Kendo.

-The first foreigner ever to own and operate an Aikido dojo in Japan.

Van Damme

- European Karate Champion in 1979

-came to USA to win the World Championship but didn't win, a few months later had a rematch with the opponent he lost against in and he won in less than 2 minutes.

-Former sparring partner of Chuck Norris in the early 80s.

-Kick was clocked at 70 mph.

-Can lift 166 kg on a bench.

Speakman

-7th degree black belt in Goju-ryu Karate,

-7th degree black belt in American Kenpo Karate,

-also has 2nd and 4th degree black belts in American Kenpo Karate under different instructors.

-In 1993, was inducted into the Black Belt Hall of Fame as "Instructor of the Year.

Griffith

Black belt in both Kenpo Karate and Tae Kwon Do.

Norris

-a student of Bruce Lee.

-In 1968 became the Professional World Middleweight Karate Champion. (He held the title undefeated until he retired in 1974.)

-6 time world champion in Karate.

-10th degree black belt in Korean Tang Soo Do.

-8th degree black belt in Korean Tae Kwon Do in 1996 (the 1st Westerner to ever earn it)

-knows some of all forms of the martial arts.

-In 1969, earned the Triple Crown for the highest number of tournament wins, and named Fighter of the Year by Black Belt magazine.

Lee

-"expert" in Martial Arts including Thai Kick-Boxing, Jeet Kune Do, and Yee Chuen Tao.

Lundgren

-European Heavyweight Karate Champion in 1980-81.

-Australian Heavyweight Karate Champion in 1982.
