Guest web_norah
-one of the coolest ladies in music "Everyman.../Everywoman... (Basement Jaxx Club Mix)" is a mix of beats and her screeching vocals. It's her second No. 1 dance song this year. Ono, 71, is already working on her next single, a version of "Give Peace A Chance." She says she's says she's putting contemporary beats on it and she updated the words after the Sept. 11 attacks.
Guest jbit
This brings up a good topic.....who should really get credit for this. Ono with her whiney voice or Bassment Jaxx for laying the foundation and making her sound good?
Guest web_norah
this isnt the only time Yoko has made a good track ....but to answer that question, i'd like to quote a nameless friend of mine.....you're as good of singer as the person that produced you. good producer=good vocalist
Guest jbit
I agree...The one's creating, arranging, and sequencing the music are really doing all the work, you can take any voice samples and make them sound good.Shit, you could make Courtney Love sound good with enough editing, ok, maybe not her! Hooker.
Guest web_norah
that goes to all the mediocre music you get on commercial radio, basically. good marketing and media coverage helps too.

Guest universal_guru
Yoko Ono ruined the Beatles. You can't blame Yoko when John just wanted to go in a new bold direction, I love the stuff they did together and Yoko rocks !

I think they both have to sound good. Producers and mixers just can give it a more dancefloor friendly appeal that when dance was at it's prime (when a mixer and a dj could make a pop hit without radio airplay)
