some of your points made are the reason why i moved to New York city. yes i am freezing my *** now but to be honest, i am much more happy in every sense of the word here & was ready for the rat race and tired of the beach-state-of-mind ....

plus side for me is a lot more money & a great apartment in the W Village

NYC is the only cold-city I'd live in.. thats for sure...

It's a catch-22 for me cause i have no desire to live back in NY really. When i go home i love it but the people are sometimes toooooo dramatic. It was a big part of me. I think moving here people find my personality to harsh sometimes being that i am really opinionated and stuff..but at the same time living here as slowly chilled me out and im learning that not everyone is like that city groove edge. I do still value that part of me and want to look into other cities in the future. I was questioning Atlanta in another post b/c i hear GREAT things. Good jobs, great places to live that are affordable..people are really polite lol, and the complete 4 seasons which you lose these days (although it's feeling very winter like in Miami now) For the time being i am extremely content. I'm learning to let things flow :)

and you gforgot a lot more guido's too ;D ;):P

guidos dont live in Manhattan, they live in the suburbs cos they rather save their cash for buying tables at clubs on the weekends...........and for the tanning sessions, gym and tight fitted clothes plus the annual trip to WMC with the guidette.

Ditto...go through the Lincoln Tunnel to Bayridge or Verazzano to Staten Island..and they are EVERYWHERE. But i respect the guido lol, ya gotta find it amusing.

you know at one point I was really considering moving to Atlanta...they really have a lot of I.T. Jobs overthere that would certainly suit me. But I am just so use to living in Miami, moving to a new City is really hard and its liek starting a new life or over again.

Sometimes change can be good sometimes it can be not.

But Atlanta is certainly a great place to move if your looking for a financial edge in employment.

Moving to a new city isn't all that hard. I just did it :). I think it depends on your personality, i kinda thrive on new things and experiences. Nothing is a new start, wherever you go your good and bad issues follow. Plus who would i go out with and make fun of the shoulder dancing girl with????

Atlanta real estate also is soooo much more afordable. They have sick apts downtown that you couldnt even get a 1 BD apt here for. I don't know how the nightlife is there though, and music is so important to me. I dont think i could ever move to San Francisco or Chicago for that reason specifically..im a west coast kinda gal.

Atlanta is very nice place to live..i almosted moved there..I have friends their but not many and the night life is exciting but i don't think it could top the night life in miami. They have top notch dj's playing there also and they got their good local dj's there as well. The real estate is good there also..but traffic is worst than Miami for sure. Maybe sometime in the futre i'll move there..but for right now, visiting is good enough.

It depends on what you're expectations and goals are. For me, being a DJ and living on the beach is fuckin' awesome. Everything, almost, is within walking distance, which I love. Rent is not cheap, but you pay for the convenience of being in the center of all the action, including walking distance to the ocean. ;D

Agreed for sure...but it's been my experience that South Beach will eat you alive if you allow it- depends on how much willpower you have...what kind of job you have etc. I could/did party every single night- so if you get caught up in then it really fucks up your priorities, etc. But i suppose that's big cities everywhere.

Personal opinion tho if you're gonna do it do it right- live in SOBE..i think living 1 hr away is such a pain in the ass then if you go out in sobe it's hard to get fucked up and drive home etc and if you don't know anyone moving here at least 1st that wouldn't work out so hot.

:-* :-*

That is sound advice, and believe me, I know all about that. I live where my screenname says I live, and there is no bigger den of debauchery than Vegas. If you think you have a lot to divert your attention in Miami, "you ain't seen nuthin". Try adding casinos and 24/7 booze (everywhere), a large number of strip clubs, hookers in the phone book, etc. to what you have there in Miami, and then imagine what that is like. Wherever I move to, it will be like turning the volume down, trust me. Thanks for the advice though.

I'm a little late on my reply but...

Yeah there's temptation on the beach, but there's temptation EVERYwhere. Doesn't matter where you are you can always fall victim to your own desires. Drugs, sex, and booze are in every city, in every small town, and in every country. Especially if you've lived in Vegas, you'll be just fine in Miami. I know from personal experience, it's not about where you live but how you live.

Yes, I love it! I am from DC and it is so stuffy in that city. Not as much to do and people are pretty conservative.

I don't find Miami to be more dangerous than DC. You can get yourself into trouble anywhere.
