I'll let Lil Ze' know you're knocking him and his crew. He'll sick that gang of little kids on you and they'll corner you in an alley and eat you alive by nibbling on you bit by bit..What a way to go huh?

just saw this last night. eh... i was expecting more after hearing the hype. not bad but not great. maybe i dont get "shocked" as easily as i used to, or maybe i never got the feeling what i was seeing was really happening, but i didnt find it all that memorable. great movies make you forget youre watching a movie. when you see someone shoot 16 consecutive times using a revolver it can take away from that happening. my expert opinion is walk, dont run, to rent it.

if you're from brazil or know brazil beyond the level of a tourist you'd understand the film much better. the film was fabuously realistic. in a way you could say its the "Kids" of Brazil but with a happy ending.

can't remember who wrote it but if you like to read check out the book "Child of the Dark." it's the diary of a mother living in the favela in the 1950s/60s.

it's despicable when people talk of the plight of the poor in this country when millions of favelados in Brazil (and the poor of other countries) cannot find a job or put food on the table.
