Guest pod
You'd be surprised, even though boozing isn't Koran-approved, some of these guys put it away. Booze over there is like coke here, it may be illegal, but there's people that do it. Due to the stiff penalties involved, I'm sure it is only the wealthy though... V. Barbarino
In terms of alcohol - Dubai and the United Arab Emirates are of course Muslim - but expatriates are allowed alcohol licenses to buy and consume alcohol in their homes and bars, restaurants, pubs and clubs also have special licenses allowing them to sell alcohol to non-Muslim clientele over the age of 21.There are no casinos in Dubai as gambling is totally against the Muslim tradition. Nightclubs are varied and thankfully now plentiful! Many cater only to the over 25’s, all have to shut by 3am and most are clearly divided into themes - from international to Arabic to African to Latin American! Try Amnesia in the Palm Hotel for a fantastic dance scene or maybe try Club Africana in the Rush Inn for something altogether fantastically different. Guest Electric Eel
I think I saw something on Discovery channel about the planning of this building. It was pretty cool, since it is going to be soo big they have to take alot into consideration. It pretty much seemed like it was going to be its own city within the city. I love watching shows like that, so interesting, but thats just the macgyver in me speaking, lol.

Guest Electric Eel
Yeah, it was crazy, they were saying how people can live and work and do all their shopping in that building, no need to go anywhere else.
