Any junkies out there know of any hype Super Bowl parties happening in Detroit this weekend? I'm trying to find out where the best ones will be and hopefully meet some players either before or after.

MONDAY

A Detroit Salute

The buzz: The Detroit Super Bowl XL Host Committee's official kick-off to the week will put our region's best face forward, toasting the automotive industry, music and the 40 athletic moments that best define Detroit sports. There will be homegrown entertainment by the Four Tops, techno legend Kevin Saunderson and R&B hero Kem. Big names from the area's sports history will be all over the place. ABC Sports/ESPN broadcaster Mike Tirico will emcee the event.

Admission: $100 to $1,500. The higher-end tickets include dinner.

TUESDAY

Mosaic Youth Theatre: "Rock My Soul"

The buzz: Performances will feature legendary Detroit musicians, up-and-coming youth and adult artists and dancers, and the internationally recognized Mosaic Theatre troupe. Featured performers include Marcus Belgrave, the Rudy Hawkins Singers and the Black Bottom Collective.

Admission: $15; $10 seniors and children.

Hair Wars Fantasy Hair Football Affair

The buzz: Detroit is the Hair Capital of the World and now the worldwide media and visitors will see why. Stylists will create hairstyles with a football theme. Live entertainment by the Segue' Band, Family Unit featuring Rachel & Kapp Ivory and actor comedian Emanuel Ke'Juan. The evening will be filmed for BET MAAD Sports.

Admission: $10 before 7 p.m., $20 after; free until 7 p.m. with a super-bowlish hairstyle.

The Xtreme Super Party Before the Super Game

The buzz: A red carpet event that Joe Public can not only get into, but will be excited and wowed by afterward as well. Wild Woody's is teaming up with rock station 101 WRIF.

!Estilo Latino!

The buzz: Jeff Garcia, Detroit Lions quarterback and Hispanic Scholarship Fund board member, will join HSF in hosting what will be the premiere Latino event during Super Bowl week. The event will merge Hispanic culture, food, entertainment and fiesta with football.

Fight Night at the Fisher

The buzz: Emanuel Steward and his foundation are throwing a celebrity-laden party to raise funds to save Detroit's legendary Kronk Gym.

Dre Bly Party

The buzz: The Perfect Party honors the 1972 Miami Dolphins, the only NFL team with a perfect season.

Jerome Bettis Superbowling Extravaganza

The buzz: Anyone who's been to a party thrown by hometowner Bettis knows it will be filled with celebrities. This one will raise money for the Jerome Bettis the Bus Stops Here foundation, which benefits children in both Detroit and Pittsburgh. Bettis, who is vying for a Super Bowl ring with the Pittsburgh Steelers, is also an excellent bowler. The party happens in four rooms -- Majestic Theatre, Magic Stick, Garden Bowl and the Majestic Cafi.

Pure Rush

The buzz: The event at the former Manufacturers Bank building will allow guests to go back in time: Planners promise that the best music of the '60s, '70s and '80s will be spun and a host of celebrity guests will be in attendance.

EA Sports Madden Bowl

The buzz: This event at a recently revamped, long-dormant club is one of the hottest shindigs every year at the Super Bowl. The EA Sports Madden Bowl is an eight-man Madden NFL '06 video game tourney -- NFL player vs. NFL player. No word yet on which players will participate.

Admission: Private.

Celebrity Food and Wine Dinner

The buzz: Fifteen NFL players will sign autographs and meet folks who buy tickets for the dinner. It's ideal for people who can't get tickets to the game but still want a piece of action. It's planned for about 250 people.

Urban Organic presents DJ Jazzy Jeff

The buzz: The multiplatinum-selling, Grammy-winning DJ -- and Will Smith's good buddy -- spins at the event with Detroit's Stacey Pullen and DJ Steady Rock.

Vivid/ClubJenna Bowl Party

The buzz: The world's most famous adult-film actress, Jenna Jameson, will be bringing Vivid and ClubJenna stars to town. They'll sign autographs, meet fans and perform in a lingerie show.

Don Barden's Super Bowl Extravaganza

The buzz: Casino magnate Don H. Barden will host a three-day party featuring a lineup of R&B artists, including Smokey Robinson (Saturday), Little Richard (Sunday), Chaka Khan (Friday) and the Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards (Friday). Partygoers on Friday and Saturday nights will also receive free parking in Eastern Market and a free shuttle to and from Music Hall.

Super Bowl Dance Party

The buzz: DJ sets from two of the biggest names from the early days of Detroit electronic music: tech-soul master Eddie Fowlkes and Juan Atkins, who is recognized as the godfather of techno.

The buzz: The almost 2-year-old club holds about 500 people -- 60 in various VIP sections. It's swanky, catering to the well-dressed crowd.

NFL Alumni Player of the Year Award Dinner

The buzz: As it has for almost three decades, the NFL Alumni will crown an NFL player of the year at the dinner. Among those being honored include Seattle Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander, Carolina Panther Steve Smith and Oakland Raider Derrick Burgess.

Admission: Tables for 10 start at $7,500 and go up to $12,500. The higher-price tickets will get you seated with an NFL player.

Runners of the Game

Groove Detroit ... Art in Motion

Proceeds this year benefit the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit and the HollyRod Foundation, which provides medical and emotional support to people with Parkinson's disease.

Playboy Super Saturday Event

The buzz: Every year, this is one of the highest-profile events of Super Bowl weekend. The men's mag is turning the executive hangar at the Coleman A. Young Municipal Airport into a themed Eight Mile High Club. Celebrities, athletes and VIPs will join Playboy bunnies while DJ Sky Nellor spins the tunes. Expect parachute-clad dancing girls, a scorching dance floor, customized airplane snack carts and more.

Gridiron Celebrity Hoops NFL Players & Celebrities

The buzz: A star-studded team of NFL players, actors, streetballers, television personalities, music artists and athletes will participate in a competitive game of hoops.

Holy Hip Hop XL-Extreme Lifestyle Concert

The buzz: All are invited to experience the hotness of gospel hip-hop with Canton Jones, Mahogany Jones, the Mad Prophets and God's Army. Hailing from Warfare Entertainment, God's Army is known for lively lyrics and phenomenal beats.

Admission: $20 in advance, $25 at door. Tickets can be purchased through Friendship Productions or at God's World, 7 Mile and Schaefer.

Taste of the NFL

The buzz: This is the third year for this party, which is cohosted by former Chicago Bear William (the Refrigerator) Perry, 1997 Playboy Playmate of the Year Victoria Silvstedt, actor Eddie Cibrian and "Survivor" winners Jenna Morasca and Ethan Zohn. Last year more than 2,300 people attended.

Playstation "Game Over" Party

The buzz: Sony Computer Entertainment America will host a post-Super Bowl game party that will cater to media and celebrities.

Compuware-Spin Magazine Super Ball

The buzz: Compuware and Spin music magazine host an invite-only party at the atrium of the software maker's downtown headquarters. Following the game Queens of the Stone Age will play a set and L.A. DJ Kid Millionaire will spin.

Bob Marley Super Bash
