pipdaddy Posted April 9 Report Share Posted April 9 what the hell were you people watching??? the movie was soooo depressing and sad. traffic was a one of a kind movie....it was a cinematic piece of brilliance...Johnny d was great in the movie, but i thought it was kind of slow in the second half....to much droning on and on about his daughter.....it was too depressing for me..... raazzatazz Posted April 9 Report Share Posted April 9 I'd have to agree with P-Daddy... it was a good movie in that George Jung's life was so insanely played out (hard to believe ALL that shit happened to ONE guy!) - but then at the end, it got so fucking depressing that some chics in the theater where I saw the movie actually started crying...YUCK!I'd recommend it as a cool biography of a legendary drug dealer (and as a testament to the fact that not all dealers are scary, sick, murderous assholes) but I wouldn't recommend it if you're interested in seeing the behind the scenes aspect of late 70's and early 80's white powder mania....Depp does a good job as the pot smoking turned coke dealing GURU, but I thought he was a zillion times better in Fear and Loathing (a REAL film about drugs).But that's just MHO....
