  1. All that is fine and good, but this thread is for those of us discussing Israel, clubs in Israel, and when/how/where we're going to meet up while clubbing in Israel.... Thanks anyway. Raz
  2. My fav is Mac N Cheese - the old fashioned kind, like when I was a kid (I've got a bunch of reserve boxes in my pantry for just such occasions).
  3. Damn you guys are funny ... The first hour after I drop, I get this queesy feeling in the pit of my stomach (like when your mad in love and have ten thousand butterflies all bumping into one another in there) - then my bladder starts to feel really tiny, like it can't hold the two drops or so that are in there ~ then all of a sudden my whole bod starts to tingle and from that moment on, until the next day I won't need to use the restroom AT ALL. [Please note: the next day my body seems to have located the 12 gallons of water I'd consumed the night before and I'm in the bathroom pissing the equivilent of my entire body weight about every five to ten minutes....]. 4. I'd have to agree with P-Daddy... it was a good movie in that George Jung's life was so insanely played out (hard to believe ALL that shit happened to ONE guy!) - but then at the end, it got so fucking depressing that some chics in the theater where I saw the movie actually started crying...YUCK! I'd recommend it as a cool biography of a legendary drug dealer (and as a testament to the fact that not all dealers are scary, sick, murderous assholes) but I wouldn't recommend it if you're interested in seeing the behind the scenes aspect of late 70's and early 80's white powder mania.... Depp does a good job as the pot smoking turned coke dealing GURU, but I thought he was a zillion times better in Fear and Loathing (a REAL film about drugs). But that's just MHO....
  5. Hey hey hey ~ I decided to start this new thread for us Israelis so we could discuss this summer's sizzilin TA Extravaganza. Since a few of us are already beginning to plan on getting together to party and hang out, the old "do any israeli's post here" thread has begun to morph into "what's your cell number in israel so i can call you when i get there" kind of discussions. It's been nearly ten years since I lived in Israel, so my knowledge of the club circuit is a bit rusty (StylinSafari ~ I'm hoping you could help me out with this!!) but with a little insider information and the right club gear, I'll be in the swing of things soon enough So ~ lets get this ball rollin (no pun intended) and start planning our own version of the summer of peace Cheers, Raz
  6. Hey everyone, This summer really IS going to be off the hook! Tel Aviv, here we come...! Dan - I'll be in Israel by June, so email me soon so that we can start to get 'organized' - Stylin, same with you!! I've actually got some questions for you: I'm pretty interested in getting a job in the nightlife scene myself, can you help? You all can email me at raazzatazz@yahoo.com or PM me when you get a chance. Le'hetra'ot! Raz
  7. hey chaverim - so, it looks like dan will be in TA all summer long - i'm still considering it myself. mostly i'm worried that the scene won't be as phat as it is here in the states - NYC, LA and SF can throw down some sweet parties ... does TA really compare? dan - help us out here, you're the only one that seems to have a lot of experience clubbing in the home land! Raz ps - my AIM screen name is raazzatazz so shoot me an IM sometime; we'll chat!
  8. That's cool that you all try to stay close to other Israelis... In fact, I've got some stuff on my mind that I'd like to run by you, but Israelis ONLY, so I'm switching to Hebrew now: Ani matchilah lachshov sh'ani rotzah la'asot aliyah - nim'aas li meh'amerikaim kvar Ani yoda'at she'beTel Aviv yesh discoteq'm tovim kmo be'New York, az lamah lehiyot pho bimkom sham? Efshar la'asot kesef tov (ani ovedet ba'internet) ve'yesh gam chevrah tovah ... na'chon?? Tgovout?? Raz [This message has been edited by raazzatazz (edited 02-13-2001).]
  9. T-goddess, Thanks for the info! I'll be heading home for Pesach so I might see if I can't hit at least one of those spots you mentioned ... Raz
  10. Hmmm ~ I'm actually quite new to the LA area (moved down from SF), but I've already seen TONS of Jewish/Israeli shops etc so I'll keep my eyes peeled for bamba and bisli for you Shalom shalom, Raz
  11. Hey there.... Well, I went to UT and I can tell you that the scene in Austin is way different than the big cities ~ but that it has it's own style: It's much more about the live music and the chill out scene than it is about the raving ~ for example, getting high out on Lake Travis, or throwing some kick ass house parties (that's where you can let loose and do *whatever* you want without uptight bouncers all over you....). I still have college buddies who stayed in Austin, one of whom runs a bar/club on Sixth Street. It might be worth it to him to know that there is a pretty high demand for a top notch club in Austin, as he is in the position to possibly give y'all what you need. Let me know how many of your friends are interested and I'll ask my friend what it would take to put together the kind of DJ lineup that is required to compete with the big city clubs ... Cheers, Raz
  12. Ani choshevet she'ha'acherim lo yo'havoo et ze eem anachnu nedaber be'ivrit - vegam ze kzat kashe li lichtov kacha .... Derech agav ... ani nimtzet be'los angeles.....aifo atem?
  13. As an American child to 2 Israeli parents, I've been "home" about 50 times, but I've never really gotten the chance to see the underground party scene in Israel ~ is it really that vibrant? I know that Tel Aviv and Eilat are the funest places to be, but where are the cool clubs there? Raz
  14. Hey baby cakes ... Well, interesting discussion opener ~ actually, I'm always paying attention to what is said, how it sounds, and what the words can do to people whose attention warrents the gift of the ultimate literary climax ~ oh baby oh baby OHHHHHHH! Here's the reason I think some poems, prose, and lyrics make us slide out of our chairs: it's all about motion and fluidity, and some authors know how to manipulate (in a good way, of course) language so that the combinations of syllables literally roll off your tongue It's the same reason that we love certain DJ's ~ the way they combine, mix, and manipulate certain sounds (maybe that we've heard before but just sound different cuz they're in a new string) and entice the human brain and then WHAM ~ we get hooked. Anyway, that's my two cents Peace, love, and happiness Raz ps ~ in case you've never read him, Vladimir Nabokov is my FAV writer, and as a foreigner he has a total love affair with the English language and has created some of the most beautiful stories I have ever read... take a gander at his stuff sometime. I promise you won't be disappointed. [This message has been edited by raazzatazz (edited 01-06-2001).]
  15. Oo ~ Perhaps next year we'll consider Ibiza for NYE so that we can get our groove on in paradise: one year as snow bunnies, the next as beach goddesses! Much love from the West Coast, Nic
