  2. Hey there, all - For this year's AIDS Walk on May 16th, we've put together a team called NY Nightlife Cares: Walk to Boogie. This team was created because, as members of the Nightlife community, we walk to honor those who despite their struggle, boogie alongside us. And we remember those we miss who always had the boogie in em'. As a team we've already raised over $1300.00. If you'd like to make a general donation or, if you'd like to join the team and walk with us, copy and paste this link into your browser: https://www.kintera.org/faf/search/searchTeamPart.asp?ievent=41823&lis=0&kntae41823=AF534EE3D8C34C9881BB3762EECC4550&supId=0&team=405345&cj=Y Or.... Go to http://www.aidswalk.net/newyork/ and click the register link on the left column and choose the join a team option and select the NY Nightlife Cares team. The team number is 7074. Please feel free to repost this anywhere you feel is appropriate. Thanks and hope to see you at the walk! 3. Just a quick request to please support Morgan, my pup, and me in this year's AIDS Walk. I've walked every year for the last 10+ and each year the overwhelming support from the nightlife community has been amazing. Every little bit helps! Its easy to donate by clicking the link below and using a credit card to make your secure and tax deductable donation. If you'd prefer to donate by check or cash, contact me and I'll be happy to help you. Also, this year I've created a team; New York Nightlife Cares: Walk to Boogie. This team is to show the support from our community for the continuing efforts toward a cure, to provide support and services to those living with AIDS and HIV and research. Also, its to honor and remember those who were part of our community's history and legacy who were lost. This is the first year I've made a team and I hope that it is the first year of many and that we have a great start! If you're interested in walking, please register. If interested in joining our team...we'd love to have ya! THANKS! CLICK HERE TO SPONSOR
  4. I just spoke to an individual who is close to Junior. Junior is fine. He did NOT suffer from a heart attack or any drug related incident. It was a false alarm, but it was decided better safe then sorry. He is resting comfortably and will be just fine. He sends his gratitude to everyone for their well wishes. -Oo
  5. Latest mix is just a few months old. -Oo
  6. There was a time where there were mutliple mega-clubs in the city and they all survived/did well. They just each cattered to a very particular market and focused on various aspects of production to create a particular party. The market is there...especially clubbers in their late 20s who want a more mature atmosphere. If each venue markets itself right...NYC will be in for a HUGE treat and some terrific options. -Oo
  7. I'm so delighted that so many people have supported this cause and have helped me reach my goal of $1000. This is in honor and in memory of all those who I remember who died from this disease and for those who are still fighting. THANK YOU to all of you supported me, those who are walking and those who supported others who are walking. More help is always needed and more donations are OF COURSE welcome ... but I just needed to say.... thank you. -Oo to sponser: https://www.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ievent=2302&lis=1&supId=595109 for general information/registration/joining a team/sponsering another participant: http://www.aidswalk.net/newyork/
  8. :::: This is a really worthy/important event...want to keep it alive -Oo
  9. Hey there guys. I'm doing the AIDS walk NY this May 19th and I wanted to pass on the information to everyone. This cause is incredibly important to everyone, whether or not you've ever known someone who's lived with or died from AIDS or HIV. I'm posting to request that those of you who can manage, sponsor me byClicking Here or sponsor someone else you know of who is walking. If you can't sponsor (or even if you can), please consider walking yourself or simply passing the word around to others about this event. While funds are incredibly valuable, so is seeing the huge human turn out of support for AIDS & HIV research/edjucation/support systems etc. This is one way we can show the world that there are battles that still need to be fought and MUST one day be won and honor those we've lost or those amazing individuals living with HIV or AIDS. I walk in memory of my friends that I've lost and in honor of those who are living with HIV and AIDS and to stand beside those who are actively working to keep this cause vital in their own ways. Here is some information for you all about the event and some statistics about AIDS/HIV. Source for the statistics is Thewww.gmhc.org Here's the basic info: AIDS Walk New York is a 10 kilometer fundraising walkathon now in its 17th Year. Did You Know? AIDS Walk New York is the world's largest AIDS fundraising event. In 2001, nearly 40,000 people, a group as diverse as the city itself, participated in the AIDS Walk, collecting more than $4 million. AIDS Walk New York stands out as a model of community action and cost-efficient fundraising. The priority has always been to have the money raised go directly to vital services to help people living with HIV or AIDS. AIDS Walk New York benefits GMHC (Gay Men's Health Crisis), the nation's oldest and most comprehensive AIDS Service organization. The organization's staff of 169 and 6,600 dedicated volunteers provide services to more than 11,000 men, women, and children living with HIV and AIDS and their families. A portion of the net proceeds from the AIDS Walk also goes to dozens of other AIDS organizations within the tri-state area to support programs and services provided by GMHC and other AIDS service organizations across the tri-state region for men, women, and children affected by HIV and AIDS.
