"Apocalypto" will be filmed entirely in the Mayan language and the cast will consist of local indigenous Mayan actors.As the Maya kingdom faces its decline, the rulers insist the key to prosperity is to build more temples and offer human sacrifices. In fact they built a pyramid to catalogue this. The pyramid entrance is supposed to represent the date of when the pyramid was built. You walk along to corridors of the pyramid that have heiroglypics telling the future. The corridors of the pyriamid end in a chamber that according to the markings on the wall represents the end of the world. Well knowning that the Egyptians were very well versed in math some archiologists and mathmeticians studied the markings and the architechure of the pyramid and found that the corridor's measurments corresponded to a certain number of years that when added up is said to be around this time!!
