Just got a Samsung 26 inch hdtv..... its awesome

though i put on the dvd and its blurry fuck now i need a hd dvd lol

what a hassle just to get the crystal clear quality in stores u need

direct tv hdtv antenna to get hdtv channels then u need a hd dvd to get the best quality dvd

only thing thats running at 720i is the 360 it looks dope

i only payed 132 for it which was basically the 4 yr best buy warranty......

had 900 in gift cards

was tempted to get the sony it was 1050 retail plus the 150 for warranty and tax i would have paid like 300 additional out of pocket the resolution was the highest for hdtv.. but im like its gonna take ages anyways to get hd dvd so ill stick to this ......

hope i made the right choice

guy in store said

samsung is right behind sony in quality

it has svideo, component, hdmi and even a pc input...i think i need xp though so i can watch my pc stuff on my tv dont know......

here is the one i bought

720p 1080i was way more pricey. plus i read the benefits of 720p

720p is progressive scan while 1080i is the regular scan while its higher resolution 720p is smoother ...

either way i have comcast digital cable but now i need to call them to get a hd capable unit ..... this tv is crap until i get hdtv quality channels....

well cept for xbox360 it looks really nice....... colors are more realistic its not as fake looking cant explain it......

I bought the Xbox 360 HD player this week. What a difference it makes. I compared Batman Begins on DVD and HD DVD, it’s like night and day. I suggest all Xbox and HD TV owners pick one up. You can’t go wrong for 200 bucks.

yep it has 2 hdmi inputs...... yeah that box im getting next sat will be that kind......

Yeah, hook up your box via HDMI, and your DVD player via HDMI too if it supports it. If your DVD player supports HDMI, it will upscale reasonably well.

I am guessing you are waiting for the PS3 to come out with more games right? Well it’s going to be a while. Trust me I want to do the same but I am not going to spend 600 bucks on the PS3 right now. Just not worth it.

BTW have you finally signed on for Xbox live??

Don't think for a second Comcast is going to just give you an HDMI cable. Get your wallet out buddy.

You know the fucked up part about the whole thing? I just switched back to Direct TV. When I had Dish Network, the HD cable that ran from your box to your TV was called a DTI cable. Somewhere in between 2 years ago and today they switched to HDMI.

My TV is 4 years old and does not have the HDMI output so now I'm forced to go back to component cables. I honestly can't say that I see much of a difference in the picture between using component cables and DTI. so why should I think I'll see a difference with the HDMI cable?

DO NOT BUY HDMI CABLES FROM A RETAIL STORE

use http://www.monoprice.com

the cheapest cable at best buy is like $80 bux when you can get one for under 20

and shaun i think you mean DVI and not DTI. You can get an HDMI to DVI converter if your tv doesnt have HDMI.

No shit? That's cool news. I'll check out that site and see if it happens to have the converter there too! :)

I meant DVI, but typed DTI because I type it so often....as in debt-to-income ratio. (I'm a comercial banker for SunTrust) LOL!

You also need to make sure that you get an HDMI to HDMI cable ($30) to hook it up.

I got this one back in November and I'm totally happy with it.

It's a 42inch DLP HDTV. It doesn't look that big from a far but when you sit 5 to 9 feet away from it, it looks a lot bigger.

Make sure when you go to comcast that you press them for the HD box. They will always tell you that they are out of stock when they are not.

Make sure you get a new one also from them. Theywill say they don't have brand new boxes when they really do.

Make sure your TV has an HDMI input other wise you will need to get a DVI adapter or use a 'component to component' cable. HDMI is better though.

And if you want a nice HD DVD player, Costco has a nice Sony one with progressive scan and shit for around $100.

i have a 42 inch Sony DLP. i use the comcast/adelphia HD-DVR for HD with the HDMI (which i obviously paid too much for at circuit city). no complaints really. adelphia just added a few more HD channels too.

congrats on the purchase, blingster.

i also have a progressive scan DVD player thats a couple years old and newer movies look fine on it, they are not blurry at all. you want want to make sure you are at least using component cables.

sony dvd/cd/video cd with built in 5.1 digital 5.1 ch decoder......

im using the monster component cables for my dvd player....

ill eventually get the hd dvd player though.......

ugh looks like ill have to get the hdmi cable after all lol. when i was there i was like do i need an hdmi cable for the 360 they said no u just hit the switch on the 360 to hdtv... i was so happy dammit still need one

such a scam.... this is def an investment def wouldnt have gotten it if it wasnt for the gift cards
