DMB is "rock" yes a sub genre of it, but there is no true way to pigeon hole any rock band. I guess the Stones are the true representation of "rock" if you really wanted a definition. And if you asked them, they would tell you Muddy Waters and Little Richard and Chuck Berry, all black all rock. Too bad blacks have no idea they invented rock n roll. 1059 is one of the most popular stations in S. Florida, yet there is no classic hip hop stations, why? Rock is eternal, hip hop like Ramon said, is cell phone ring tones..This soulja boy thing is Chris Cross for 07. PS, Did anyone catch on Entourage they played some old ABC. " you may dig on the rolling stones but they didn't come up with that shit on they own." many other emcee's reference rock and roll and it's origins quite a bit. you don't listen to it so you wouldn't know so don't make blanket statements like ,"blacks have no idea they created r & r."as far as there are no classic hip hop stations... it's apple and oranges. rock and roll has been around a lot longer than hip hop. when hip hop is as old as r & r there WILL be stations that play old school.
