OK?

They spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to come up with this tripe? And yet there's homeless crackheads wandering the streets outside of some of our favorite nightclubs, the PD tasked to keep

the peace in the area is severely undermanned, and they're wasting money on a "catchy" slogan for the area?

The monkeys who OK'd this need to be slapped with the jigstick.

What next, STH BCH? DSGN DSTRCT? HLH? KNDLL? LBRT CT?

Wow, amazing if this crap really happens, whomever wrote the screenplay for the movie "IDIOCRACY" is the real Nostradamus and he was just telling us how our future will evolve....we're doomed![http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idiocracy]

hahaha, Mike Judge(King Of The Hill, Office Space, Beavis and Butthead) wrote it . Awesome movie!

One minus: ''DWNTWN MIAMI'' scored lower with tourists in focus groups, Raecke told board members.

Board member Jose Goyanes argued that going vowel-less might confuse visitors.

Shot back Rodriguez, a senior vice president with The Related Group development company: ``This isn't a map. They're not looking at this to find out where they're going.''

Another potential drawback came up in focus groups, Raecke said: ``Whether it would be construed we didn't know how to spell or something like that.''

this is absurd. >:(

this stuff absolutely DOES happen. the agency i work for had been hired by a private real estate company - not even a public body - to rebrand a HUGE section of the city in order to generate foreign interest and get their units sold... at least the DDA is a governmental organization... the ppl we work for were trying to outpace them by rebranding first and hoping the public latched onto it... whatever, looks like the DDA won!

wtf, they definitely need to be beaten with the jigstick, just not mine. Maybe after they use this cool new term they will then start to help clean the area.

Third one in on the third row is best. It's simple, spelled right, and to the point.

You can "vote" at this link: http://miamifly.net/interactive/polls/logo/

Vote, and you may be surprised when you see the current results. At this point, over 600 people agree with DWNTWN. The one in the lead is nice, but they need to reverse it to say "Downtown Miami" instead of "Miami Downtown"
