Anyone go to this party in the Toy Building? What did you think?

Yeah. I was supposed to go there but my boys dicked me once again. they ended up goin to some bullshit catering hall in the bronx, nevertheless I didnt shell out the cash and ended up at house parties. Let me stop my rambling, anyone know how it was, heard there were suppossed to be a ton of people.

I think you are lucky you didn't go. I was hoping that others would respond with positive experiences to show me that I had missed something. Anyway, here's what I wrote to the promoters:

Not sure exactly who you are but you were the contact listed at NYBALLDROP.com.

I was one of the all too many people that attended your New Years Eve debacle

at the 200 Fifth Club.

On behalf of the 10 people in my group that you shafted for $120 each, I want

to express my disappointment and shock at your highly amateur attempt to

throw a party and your majorly successful attempt at ripping a bunch of

people off and ruining a night that many look forward to.

I could go through your points of failure in detail but I will instead just

list them briefly:

1. 2 bartenders that were messed up beyond belief either on the beverages

they were supposed to be serving or some illicit drugs, supplier unknown, per

too few bars to accomodate the number of people that you were ripping off.

2. Too few bathrooms to comfortably accomodate the people you were continuing

to rip off.

3. DJs with a limited amount of musical taste, talent and/or repertoire

available to them.

4. Was the continuous setting up of the lights throughout the night a feature

of the party or are you THAT bad at doing this?

5. Substandard security (bouncers?) who seemed more interested in staying out

of the way than helping anyone that might need it or keeping control of the

people you were ripping off.

6. And of course, those geniuses you had at the coat check. I enjoyed the 2

hour wait to get 3 of 4 coats back that my group originally checked. Oh

yeah, I went and got the coats myself because your people made such a mess of

it that even the NYPD couldn't straighten the shit out.

Overall, great job!!! Right!! Have you ever done this before? From the way

your event went, I would say not. No big deal. Just promote it as an

amateur endeavor and don't charge people. Maybe you can get your feet wet

and learn from your mistakes and at some point be able to entertain a real

event.

Please let me know who I can provide my address too so I can get the $240

that you extorted from me for my girlfriend and myself to enter this rip-off

amateur attempt at a New Year's event mailed back to me.

I was thinking of having a Super Bowl Party for about 500 people at my 1700

square foot apartment. I was going to get a case of beer for everyone and I

have a 13 inch black and white t.v. for everyone to watch the game on. Sound

good? Feel free to stop by. Oh yeah, we have exactly as many bathrooms as

you guys did!!

I totally agree with you!!! I think all of us got scammed and screwed by the party promoters. My boyfriend and I were so excited to go to what we thought we be a great party in a fun place. Little did we know it was going to take a half hour of getting pushed around by overgrown frat boys waving 50 dollar bills to get a drink. In addition, it would have been nice to have a place to sit while eating, instead of having to balance plates. As for the bathrooms, instead of waiting on the endless line, I just decided to go home. It was quicker than waiting on line. What a dissapointment.

Thanx for the info...looks like my boys made the RIGHT choice for once. Sorry your new years ended out being so shitty. I should have know these guys were amateurs when they told me to meet them on the corner of 81 and 2nd ave to get the tickets if I want them and he sounded mad shaddy on the phone. If i would have know it would have been so shitty i would have invited you guys to the house parties i attended...they were inneed of a couple of cute girls. But the only upside was the candy dish full of pills...omg..Hope 2001 is better than 2000 to ya...
