back2basics-
Astralwerks have announced that the legendary godfathers of electronica, Kraftwerk, are releasing the remix compilation of Expo 2000 in March of next year. The track that was originally just a loop that the duo had made for Expo 2000, which was held in Germany in that year. At the time of release, it was the most recent material that Kraftwerk had released for nearly a decade.Kraftwerk are principally made up of two musicians called Ralf Hutter and Florian Schneider, and it was the work the carried out in electronic music in the 1970’s that is a basis of what we listen to today. It was these minimal beats and quirky loops that grew into the faster paced tech sounds from the German techno scene of the early 80’s.The compilation features work from some of the gurus of present day dance music, with remixes coming from: Orbital, Francois K and Rob Rives, DJ Rolando (responsible for the mighty “Knights of the Jaguar” and two version from Detroit legends ‘Underground Resistance’.If you want a sneak preview of the track check The Kraftwerk site
