I agree with KP.... Loyalty is a goo quality, except when someone is making a mistake or does something that is against your ethics.

a very thought-provoking question. one cannot always be right. it's okay to make an honest mistake. loyalty, in a work situation or in a relationship, is usually highly valued.

look at it this way: if you're right, but not loyal, then the trust is broken.

if you're loyal, but not right, then most likely you've done the right thing.

HUGE distinction.....is it merely being right or doing WHAT's right, for the context is key? small r or big R right?

if it's, say a pissing contest that is ultimately trivial then loyalty shuold win out.......

but if it's a question involving and reflecting on your character then doing what's right is key, plead the 5th or claim to be from switzerland...........

does that make any sense?

HAHAHAHAHA!! ENTIRELY

i think i agree with kitkatt. family foremost, then truth

i'd rather be right than loyally stupid. but my loyalties generally have similar morals as myself

i think you can be both at the same time. even though i have a habit of always wanting to be right...

isnt, being loyal = right

Hell no. Being loyal to someone who is a killer and not turning them in isn't the "right" thing (the way I'm looking at this question), but it *is* loyal.

The way I see it, if you're loyal to the right person, you'll always be right. Even on the few occasions where it's wrong. cwm35.gif Anyone follow me?

Loyalty to a certain few is way more important. I am glad Ted Kazinsky's brother helped turn him in, but I wouldnt want to have a brother like that.

i think that a film that answers this question the best is "reservoir dogs":

mr.white wants to be loyal to his partner mr.orange 'till the end...

instead of listening to the people who are 'right' (nice guy eddie and joe cabot), and doing the 'right' thing, he decides to be loyal...

he pays for it dearly in the end when he realizes that his loyalty did not reside with the 'right' people...
