At Experience Music Project during the month of August.

Explore a new soundscape in August as EMP moves beyond the mainstream for a month-long foray into electronic music and DJ culture in its past, present, and future forms. The following genres of electronic music will be represented: Drum ‘n’ Bass/Jungle, House, Techno, Ambient, Nu Breaks, and Experimental Techno.

Dance in Sky Church as the power players behind electronic music like Bad Boy Bill and Dieselboy spin a variety of grooves. Discover what it takes to be a DJ or electronic artist by attending such workshops as Getting Started in Home Recording: How to Beat "Option Overload." Building Tracks with Pro-Tools and the New World of Soft Synths.

Complement the workshops with behind-the-scenes panel discussions with the people shaping the industry — panelists include Morton Subotnick, John King and Steve Fisk. Last, view electronic culture on the big screen as EMP’s JBL Theater presents Modulations, Concentric Beats and Better Living Through Circuitry.

Electronic music comprises some of the fastest-growing genres in music today; the music's rapid evolution and wild increase in popularity have put it at the forefront of one of the most exciting musical revolutions to date.
