exitstar001
What exactly does it do to your download when you change the bandwith throttle from higher to lower????
belladiva
when it goes higher--> the file downloads faster-V
aguy2go
Thats true but it also makes you a "more" popular candidate for other audiogalaxy users to download from you. Only choose to raise the bandwith if you are on a high speed connection line. If you are on a 56K it will only SLOW you down.-Guy
belladiva
thanks 4 the advice ~ I never knew that!! This also means it could slow down your comp....since more people are downloading from you... thank god for cable .
exitstar001
Then why is it, even though IM on a DSL, that i sometimes get a download rate at 600 and sometimes at 60,000???
aguy2go
Well I'll draw the picture for you. You request a song from Audiogalaxy and they look for the fastest possible connection for you to download from. Thus if Bella and I are sharing the song you are searching for and I am set to high she is set to low. You will download from me. However if only Bella is sharing the song you will download it from her. Thus when downloading from someone with a fast connection you will download at 60000 bps where as if downloading from someone with a slow connection you will download at 6000bps.-Guy
exitstar001
Thats why napster was a lil better. You can choose who you want to download off and what speed their connected at.
