meng
I've never heard him spin. I have, however, heard his original material and I like it.Is the style of music he spins similar to his own original material? My question is...how is he as a DJ? phrankadelic
i wouldn't go as far as to say that. but hey...everyone has their opionion.he's not even in my top
shroomy
4 or 5 years ago he was in the top 3. He created the mold of the DJ as an artist also(i.e creating his own songs.. not just remixes)and he has been around since practically the begining of it all, depending on your point of view.Now.. he is just damn good. But I agree with Phrank, not in my top 10.I appreciate his original stuff more than I do his live sets... (but then again I have only seen him once..)btw is his fist comp cd out yet?? any reviews if it is?
pod
Paul is a decent DJ but a better producer. The major complaint is the fact that he does a short set. He's in my top ten, because I can respect what he has done overall for the scene. Sure, his music is overplayed, but you have to give it credit, it's quite good. I'd like to see his detractors handle some rack-mounted Korgs, a Nordlead, an E-MU, as well as a Protools/Cubase rig...I don't hold popularity against any DJ. Some have accused me in the past of having personal issues with superstar DJs, but that's beside the point...
phrankadelic
i really don't care about popularity. i don't base my opionions on djs that way. frankly, i could care less. i like dj's for their style. the length of their sets. and i could really care less what they handle in the booth. just how they handle me on the dance floor. meng
I asked the same question on the Global Underground message board and got attacked........someone told me that it was the wrong question to ask on that message board cuz everyone there hates him........I spoke to someone yesteday and he told me that PVD has a tendency to spin "cheesy" shit.......I could see that happening.....
